"How can you not give my nephew a trial?!" Pauline Black demanded angrily to the British Ministry of Magic.

Her late husband's niece, Andromeda Tonks, had called her in a panic that her cousin, Sirius Black, was on his way to Azkaban for a murder she knew he never did. Fearing that she was going need help–as she's heard that the British Ministry is as worse as the American–had asked her second cousin, Penelope 'Penny' Halliwell, to assist her as her wandless magic will be an advantage. As her daughter's ex-husband was taking her granddaughter's for the weekend, Penny had agreed to help after hearing the situation.

Due to not wanting to expose her Wiccan cousin, the two women had Apparated to New York, which the American Ministry was based out of, and then flooed via-international. It was all a world-wind and new for the Wiccan witch but Penny liked to know that there was another type of magical community out there. Even if they were limited due to having to concentrate their magic to their wands, it was best to know more friends to surprise the enemy.

"We apprehended the murderer at the scene of the crime in which he just committed!" Minister Millicent Bagnold tells her arrogantly and hotly, "There was no need for a trial!"

"Every person, no matter the crime, should have a trial!" Pauline growls at the other woman angrily.

"Listen, Mrs. Black, things might be different in America–" Millicent started but the other witch interrupted her.

"The American Ministry kills all their criminals!" she tells her, surprising the younger witch, who did not expect the answer. "However, I am here because I know for a fact that my nephew is innocent and will never murder his best friends and innocent bystanders, let alone side with Voldemort!"

Millicent had flinched at the name of the dark wizard that had terrorized the magical community and Ministry for years. "Mrs. Black, despite that you married Sirius Black's uncle, you are still not related and have no say in what we can and cannot do!"

"My cousin had married into the Black family!" Penny started, glaring at the other witch, who seemed to almost cower at her intense stare, "Which only gives her every right to demand a trial for her nephew!"

Sighing, feeling that these two cousins were going to continue to badger her about this, gives her consent. "You are correct in that Sirius does deserve to have a trial and the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement should have given him one." she took out her wand and waved it over her desk, in which words appeared on a piece of parchment and folded itself into a paper airplane. "He is still attained here, luckily, he wasn't going to be transferred until tomorrow morning. I will let the Wizengamot know we are coming down to Courtroom Ten, as they are doing trials at this very moment."

The cousins followed the Minister out of her office and to a set of elevators, in which Penny did not like at all how roughly they moved, and made sure that they were the only ones in it so that they can reach the courtroom as quickly as possible. Coming to Level Nine, which housed the Department of Mysteries, Millicent briskly walked down the narrow hallway, however, the cousins can feel such strong magic vibrating from the lone black door at the end of the hallway and wondered what was hidden back there. The cousins noticed that, unlike the rest of the Ministry, this level held black tiled walls that held no windows and just the one door, with torches that glowed with a blue/white light.

They followed the Minister just to the left of the small area and walked down the small flight of steps and down another narrowed hallway, which echoed with voices that grew louder as they neared an opening. Entering the room in which the noise had increased due to all the people in the room, the cousins looked around at the very intimidating room. Those in front of the lone chair in the middle of the floor sat just about fifty witches and wizards wearing plum colored robes with an elaborate silver 'W' on the left side and an unusual hat. They all quieted down as soon as they noticed Millicent, however, the man in front of the Wizengamot sighs, leaning back as he stared at the Minister and the two women behind her.

"Millicent, I do not understand why you want to have a trial for Sirius Black, as he is the criminal to have killed Lily and James Potter, along with Peter Pettigrew, and the seven Muggles!" Bartemius 'Barty' Crouch Senior, the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, tells the Minister in an exasperated tone.

"Although I understand your methods, Barty, Mrs. Black has the right for her nephew to have a trial," Millicent tells him, nodding to the two women at her side.

"We don't have enough veritaserum to use on Sirius Black," Barty tells her in hopes it will discourage the three women.

"Veritaserum is a serum in which makes the drinker to tell the truth." Pauline tells her cousin quietly, before looking up at the Wizengamot with a glare, "You don't have to worry about using a serum, we have other means for him to tell the truth."

"How so?" Barty questioned sarcastically, "There is no spell to make someone tell the truth!"

Before Pauline can say a word, Penny steps forward and states loudly and clearly, everyone confused by what she was doing as they have never seen such magic before. "Those who now are in this room, Will hear the truth from your mouth." white light surrounded Barty, Penny quickly asking, "Surely you have a family, why are you here so late in the night doing such trials?"

"They understand that this is my career! These criminals need to be punished for the fear and crimes they have committed!" Barty growls at the younger cousin before his eyes widen in surprise and fear as the others stared at him with astonishment.

Penny raises an eyebrow and quickly asks, "What's your true reason for the way you're sentencing these supposed criminals?"

"Because they're all liars! And they deserve to be sentenced to death rather than just getting life in Azkaban!" Barty inhaled sharply before growling at the woman, "Undo that damn spell!"

Penny merely grinned at him, "Those who now are in this room, Will no longer hear the truth from your mouth."

Barty glared at her and was about to demand how she was able to make a spell work without using a wand when two Aurors walk in from a second door to the side, Sirius Black thrashing about between them. He suddenly stops and stares wide eye with hope at his aunt–the woman who seemed to have captured his uncle's love and interest–wondering if she was going to help set him free somehow. The Aurors sat him down on the wooden chair, the chains magically clamping around his wrist and ankles, holding him down and in place against the chair. Penny looked away from Barty and smiled softly to a scared Sirius, who was wondering who she was.

"For those who want the truth revealed, Opened hearts and secrets unsealed, Those who now are in this room, Will hear the truth from the falsely accused."

White lights surrounded Sirius and the chair, everyone staring and waiting for Barty to start asking questions. Rolling her eyes, Penny looked to the wizard and seeing that he really didn't want to ask the questions that can possibly exonerate an innocent man. He didn't want the others to see that he had failed in actually capturing the true murder of his best friends and that of the seven innocents.

"Do I have to do your questioning as well?"

Barty cleared his throat, glaring at the woman before looking at the wizard he knew to be guilty of what he had done. "Who made you be the Potter's Secret keeper?"

"James," he answered quickly, however before Barty can ask another question, Sirius said, "But we had decided to switch with Peter Pettigrew as I played decoy to Voldemort at the last second."

Mummers could be heard, while Barty glared at him, "Who all knew this change?"

"Just the three of us."

"Why?"

"Because everyone knew that James was going to pick me to be his Secret keeper. So I was to become the decoy instead."

"Who killed the seven Muggles?"

"Peter Pettigrew! He even blew himself up so he could set me up!"

The mummers grew a bit louder, the Wizengamot believing what they just heard, and wondered what they should do. Furthermore, what should the head judge, who had sentenced an innocent man without such trial that showed his innocence do now? Barty seemed to have realized this as well and fidgeted ever so slightly in his seat at the front of the whole Wizengamot and prayed that they did not see his nervousness.

"I believe," Pauline started, moving to stand next to her cousin, "Now is the time to let my nephew go and give him his wand back!"

Grinding his teeth, Barty waved his wand at Sirius, the chains falling off of him. Penny reverse's the spell and watched as her cousin and nephew by marriage hug each other tightly, Sirius silently crying as Pauline mutters softly to him. Sirius is grateful to get his wand back, which Millicent does so after an Auror had magically retrieved it, along with the holsters that came with it. Sirius sighs with relief when he ties the holster around his waist, glad to have the weight on his right hip once again.

"I do hope that you will give my nephew a full pardon and that the rest of the Wizarding World knows that he is truly innocent!" Pauline tells the Minister and the Wizengamot, glaring towards Barty. "If no news of it is heard by the next morning, you will be hearing from me and my cousin!"

Without giving them any more of their time, the two women thanked Millicent as they moved past her, Barty immediately complaining about what just happened and how a truth spell became without anyone's knowledge. It was also then that Pauline remembered that none of the wand users actually knew about the witches that use wandless magic and had to wonder what her cousin was about to do about it. Of course, she didn't have to wait too long when her cousin started to mutter words as they made their way towards the stairs.

"My magic will leave their thoughts, Their memories, All of which they hold onto tightly, They won't know what I have done, It will leave their minds, This is what I want, They will release, So Mote it be."

"They won't forget that Sirius is innocent, will they?" Pauline asked worriedly.

"No, they just forgot that I can do wandless magic," Penny tells her as soon as they reached the top of the stairs.

Both cousins stared at the lone door at the end of the narrow hallway, feeling a pull of strong magic. "Can you feel the pull, Penny?" Pauline asked quietly, almost as if to not disturb the silence.

"Yes, and I feel that whatever item is in there belongs to the Warren line." Penny tells her softly before holding out her hands, palms upwards, "That which does not belong here, A powerful item that belongs to the Warren bloodline, Come forth now without anyone's notice, So that it can return to its rightful owner."

A bronze Victorian hand-held mirror appeared on Penny's hands, the two witches and wizard frowning down at it. The outline was a unique carving if any of them had seen before, where on the right side was the face of a moon and on the left was what looked to be the sun, the outline meeting and twisting together on the handle. Turning it over, Penny noticed the Triskele symbol and had to wonder who in the Warren line had this mirror and why was it in the hands of a magical community that she never heard of until that day? Turning it back over, Penny was surprised to see a young woman with dark brown hair that was tied up and crystal blue eyes seeming almost as surprised as well to see her, while her style of dress–including her hair–was that of the early 1900's era.

"I'm free?" she asked, her eyes shining with gratefulness, "I'm finally free from the clutches of those damn idiots!"

"I know you," Penny tells her with a frown.

Pauline looks down in the mirror and frowns as well, "She does look familiar." before anyone can say anything, a noise echoed from the stairs, "Let's get out of here first and we'll find out who she is later."

Nodding her agreement, Penny muttered a spell for the mirror to go to the Manor, as it looks like she might need the Book of Shadows. Sirius, to his credit, had kept quiet and merely looked on what was going on around him. He was curious, make no mistake, but he figured his aunt–and her cousin, it seems–will explain once they left the Wizarding world. Sirius then seemed to remember something, and not wanting the Ministry to try and pull something once again, they stopped by the front desk and borrowed a parchment, Sirius quickly jotting down a note. He then moved towards the owl stand nearby and paid the fee–courtesy of his aunt as he had no money on him–for the letter to be sent to Gringotts.

"Owls are a way of communication and mail in the wizarding world," Pauline explained to her cousin quietly, who gives her a curt nod.

As they came to the international Apparition point, it took a few minutes for the points to be set up as it was three people–with a side Apparition as Penny could not do the deed. Pauline had Sirius go first, in case Barty wanted to detain her nephew further with false charges, then she did the side Apparition with her cousin. After clearing through customs back in New York, the three adults moved quickly to the floo network to return to Pauline's home.

"Aunt Pauline–?" Sirius started confused, but Penny stopped him.

"Not here, dear."

"I'll have to side Apparate with Sirius first, then I'll come back for you," Pauline tells her cousin.

"That won't be necessary," a male voice echoed as a column of blue and white orbs appeared before transforming into an older man. "I can orb you all to the Manor."

Penny raises an eyebrow, "Why are you helping us, Whitelighter?"

The man held back his tongue, knowing not to piss off Penny Halliwell. Her reputation did not only exceed to demons, but to the light side as well, "Because of your interference with a certain prophecy with his godson and the warlock named Tom Riddle–or as he is now calling himself, Voldemort." he tells her, "However, I cannot tell you the contents as even we, the Elders, do not know."

"Let us go to the Manor and talk some more," Penny states firmly before anything else could be said.

Nodding, the group was covered in blue and white column of lights and Pauline's house disappeared and a warm attic with the sun brightly shining in. In the middle of the room, upon a stand was a book with the interlocking triquetra on the middle of the green leather. Sirius looked around the room, wondering of the items that were pushed back against the walls and the less dizzy transportation that was similar from Apparition and had to wonder if such magic that he could possibly use.

"Now, what's this about interfering with a prophecy with his godson?" Penny questioned right away, pointing at Sirius, who quickly turned back towards them.

The Elder sighs patiently, knowing not to beat around the bush as the witch before him will curse him to the ends of days, "With saving this man, his godson will be living with him instead of his relatives, which will now give the boy a different perspective and mindset stepping into the magical school in which he'll be attending at eleven."

"That shouldn't matter," Pauline tells him with a raised eyebrow. "However my nephew's godson turns out when entering that school should not matter, except only to fulfill the prophecy–assuming that there are certain events foreseen that could turn out worse if he isn't there to help out."

The Elder gives the older witch a curt nod, "That is true, yes."

Penny sighs, shrugging her shoulders, "Then that settles it!" she tells him, "So long as her nephew's godson goes to the school, it should not matter how he turns out, and he can fulfill the prophecy he has with this warlock."

Knowing that he wasn't going to win any sort of argument with the infamous Penny Halliwell, the Elder let it be and gives them a nod before orbing out. Penny rolled her eyes, muttering about Whitelighters wanting to interfere before going to the small table near the side window and picked up the mirror that she had sent beforehand. She looked at the back a bit more interested, seeing that the Triskele looked very much like that of the Triquetra and had to wonder if the mirror will belong to her granddaughter's once they are much older. Penny turned it over and saw, once again, the same woman appearing before her eyes.

"Tell me, how is it that you came to be trapped in the mirror?" Penny asked her as Pauline and Sirius moved closer to look down at the witch trapped in the mirror.

"After banishing the warlock, Timothy, into another handheld mirror, and I slowly dying from the injuries I had sustained while fighting him, I had seen my personal handheld mirror and had wished to see my sisters and my daughter one last time." she explained, sighing as though almost with regret, "I had the power of Catoptromancy, which is the ability to look into the mirror to watch anyone or anything. Now, I'm not really sure how it happened, but I do remember touching the cool glass after seeing my daughter then a bright light that had me covering my eyes, then I was looking at my unmoving body."

Penny and Pauline hummed, frowning at the information that they just heard, "What is your name?" Pauline asked.

"Agnes Russell," she tells them hotly, holding herself proudly.

"Tell me," Pauline started, Penny's mind going to the same thinking, "You were a Bowen, with two sisters, Brianna and Philippa, along with a brother, Gregory?"

Agnes frowns, "How do you know this?"

"Well, for starters, you are our great-aunt," Penny tells her with a grin.

Pauline frowns, "This does explain why mother couldn't call you from the afterlife as she was curious about her cousin that had gone bad. I wonder if there is a way to free your spirit from the mirror?"

Agnes shook her head, "I tried everything–casting spells, using my Catoptromancy powers, even calling out to my Whitelighter or my sister's when they found my body and the mirror, but nothing work."

"And they didn't see you in the mirror?" Sirius asked confused.

Agnes gave him a deadpan look, "If they had, do you not think that they would have had the mirror in their possession instead of with those idiots overseas?!"

"How did you come upon their hands, indeed?" Pauline asked seriously, "For I have all of your things that my mother had passed down to me."

"Some British idiot was snooping around the trunk and apparently saw my reflection, surprisingly. I did not see light until he uncovered me and showed me to a group of witches and wizards who then started to test whatever spells they had with their wands to get me out." she hummed, bringing up her head, "Luckily I placed a protection spell on my mirror, making them blow back with each spell. Dimwits!"

"Well, you are home now and you will be staying with the family from now on," receiving a curt nod from her grandmother, she disappeared from sight, Pauline placing the mirror carefully into her pocket after shrinking it. "Penny, I cannot thank you enough."

Penny smiled softly, "We are family. We do anything for each other–so you may call upon me whenever you need to."

The cousins hugged each other, grateful that they had rekindled whatever lost connection from their own mother's after they had killed their other cousin after she had turned evil. Penny then turned to Sirius and hugged the man, surprising him, but hugging her back just as tightly as it was her help that had gotten him free from the clutches of the Ministry. Of course, he owes his aunt as well, but if it wasn't for this woman doing the spell that she did, he would still be going to Azkaban.

"Thank you," he told her honestly.

"You are most welcome, my dear. You may call upon me anytime, as well–especially if those idiots at the Ministry begin to bug you," she tells him honestly.

Sirius grins mischievously as he pulls away, "I kinda hope for them to try something just so you can give them hell!"

"Perhaps I will set up the floo network with your home, Penny," Pauline tells her as Sirius moves to stand next to her. "It would certainly be easier and faster to travel rather than driving when it is urgent."

Penny gives her a nod, "I would not mind it, cousin. I'm sure this floo network will certainly come in handy!"

With a smile, Pauline turned to her nephew, "Come, let's see how we're going to get your nephew back."

Penny watched as the two Apparated from her home, having a feeling that she will be seeing her cousin's nephew and the rest of the Black family soon. The Wiccan witch just hoped that whatever is coming will not interfere with her granddaughters, for they have their own prophecy to fulfill themselves. Penny sighs, looking about the attic, noting the setting of the sun that she would be receiving her granddaughters again soon from their father. As she started her descend the stairs, she lifted her right hand, the door closing shut and locking itself automatically, just as she heard her granddaughter's calling out to her and the youngest running around downstairs–even when she knows she is not supposed to.

Penny just hopes that she would be alive when the prophecy happens and help guide her granddaughters as best as she is able to. Because if they truly were to become the Charmed Ones, then all types of demons and warlocks were going to come after them, and they needed to be ready.
