AN: Hi everyone! I know I've got a lot of stories on my plate, but here's another one I'm starting for you.
Ever heard of the 100 Themes Challenge? I've decided to do one of these challenges myself. I'm doing it alongside my sister, Bratette. We've decided on the "100 Emotion Prompt Themes". She's doing all of the themes for Alvittany, I am doing them for Simonette. It should be a fun challenge.
Please take note, these stories are all going to be drabbles, so none will be very lengthy. Still, I hope you do enjoy.
Disclaimer: The Chipmunks and Chipettes belong to Ross Bagdasarian and Janice Karman. I own nothing.
Enjoy!
Prompt #19. Holding
People often say that holding another person's hand is a childish way to show affection, something most often seen in the young, the innocent. A casual thing, something that often meant nothing.
But to her, it meant the world.
When he held her hand, she felt safe. The embrace of his warm fingers, wrapped around hers, made her feel protected.
Cherished.
Loved.
Adored.
They would walk in sync, side by side, as they had for years. One of each of their hands quietly gripping onto the other's, as if holding on for dear life. The embrace was gentle, yet strong. In their free arms they each held several books, by now mastering the art of carrying them with one hand.
Because they would never dream of letting go.
He'd give her hand a light squeeze, looking back at her with that delightful smile of his. Her cheeks would turn a rosy shade of red. Even after all the years, his smile still made her weak in the knees.
She'd trip, over her shoelaces, most likely. Instantly his arms would be around her, his precious novels abandoned to come to her aid.
His hand would leave her now sweaty palm, for now, he was holding her.
And he would never dream of letting go.
That was actually kind of terrible to me...Oh well. ^^ I hope everyone enjoyed it anyway...thanks for reading!
