Again I feel the pain in my chest,

Like a thousand daggers, never put to rest.

Stars belong in the sky above my head,

But theres one that's cold, fated, dead.

The dog star, of canis major constellation,

Left an empty sort of dull vibration,

In the place that organ of love should be,

Nothing is left but an agonizing memory.

Forever never more, my dog star, my hope,

No more wise cracks or stupid jokes.

Now I can't make sense of heads or tails, got sidetracked,

Because a long time ago I took my heart and painted it black.

Authroess' Notes – Churning these poems out, eh? Feeling poetic XD; Sirius gives me inspiration! And I don't own him...again, though, the I in this poem is either me () or you, the reader.
