Summary: Piper and Leo talk about their daughter's future. One-shot.
"Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Halliwell-Wyatt." The doctor called, as a newborn baby's cries filled the hospital room. Piper sank back on the pillows, exhausted. The doctor handed Piper the new baby.
"It's a beautiful, healthy girl." Piper looked down at the pink bundle in her arms, smiling. Leo, looking over her shoulder, smiled too.
"We have a baby girl." He told her softly. "Just like you saw."
"Grams will be pleased." Piper replied. "She loves the boys, but I think she's always been disappointed that I didn't have a girl."
"Well, I don't particularly care about Penny's reaction, but I hope that the boys won't mind a baby sister."
"Are you kidding, Leo? They're going to be furious! But they'll deal with it. After all, it's not like she's a demon."
The two laughed. One of the nurses looked at them oddly, but they didn't notice, they were so caught up in their new daughter.
"Well, she will certainly have a much different life to what you saw in the future."
"I'll say. No Aunt Prue, but she will have both Paige and Phoebe. She won't be an only child, because she'll have two older brothers who will always look out for her."
"And who won't be evil." Leo added.
"And who won't be evil." Piper repeated. "And, hopefully, witchcraft won't ever be exposed. And she won't have to fear. Much. And, you know what? I don't even mind that she isn't coming into a Utopia, like I expected any of my other children to be born into. I really don't mind, because we are going to give her just as good a future as Utopia would have been."
"I just can't believe that she followed us across three different timelines." Leo said. Piper kissed the baby's forehead.
"She waited a long time, but I think I always knew that someday my daughter would find her way home to me. My little girl."
"So," Leo asked mischievously. "What are we going to call her?"
Piper made a face and slapped him lightly across the arm.
"That's not funny. You know perfectly well that there's only one name I would call her, Leo."
Leo smiled.
"Yes, I know, but make it official."
"We're going to name you Melinda, baby." Piper declared. "Our little girl is finally here. Melinda Penelope Halliwell, blessed be."
