Title: The truth of a lie

Summery: on page 588 what if Jared hadn't been lying when he asked Wanda to stay? Jared's point of view. The ending is kind of crap.
"Then let me go, Jared. Go away. I want to be alone" her words were angry, almost spat out, I could tell that she wasn't lying but the pain in her voice almost destroyed me as I realised how my words would have sounded to her. I cursed myself silently and refused to let her go.
"I should come with you" I replied stubbornly, not obeying her wishes. Could she not hear the pain in my voice?
Her next words pained me ever deeper but is till didn't move my hand.
"Wanda," I whispered quietly "I would come to be with you" even in the darkness I could see her tears, they were identical to the ones on mine.
I couldn't help but wonder how Mel would be feeling. Was she listening? I forced my attention back to Wanda's face, almost invisible in the darkness.
"But Wanda, I…there's so much that I need to say to you" I was almost begging her. I had to tell her how much I cared for her, what I felt for her.
"What do you want? I would give you anything" I knew she wouldn't physically be able to take anything with her, even as she told me but maybe a memory. So I asked, I asked and she told me she wanted a lie.
I managed to mask the pained sob that wanted to escape because I was the only one who would know that it wasn't really a lie. Everything I was going to tell her came from my heart. I didn't hesitate to wrap my arms around her. My Wanda in my Mel. I love them both but my feeling for Mel were stronger, they'd been there for longer. (Heh rhyming!)
I asked her to stay.
With me, with us. I did not lie.
I told her I couldn't imagine life without her, with her gone. I didn't lie.
Wanda pulled away before I could confess my love for her.
"Thank you," she whispered
"I'm not done " I replied, tightening my arms around her so that she couldn't pull away.
I kissed her and the bomb exploded. Unlike the other kisses, I let Wanda see how much it was for her. Whether she believed or not I don't know but I showed her the truth, it was up to her to believe it.
Our lips met, hard and passionate against each other, loving and dangerous. I wanted more, so much more but she pulled away and thanked me.
!Wait!" I protested.
!I cant. I cant…bear and more, okay?" her voice was shaking.
"Okay," I whispered.
And then with a few more small sentences, a question and a confession of love, she left me.
I asked her to wait but she was off before I could convince her to stay. After about ten minutes I got worried so I hurried over and peaked through the door.
Doc was just removing Wanda form Mel.
"Wanda, sweet loving Wanda, I'll place you right next to Wes and Walter, just where you wanted to be" Doc whispered to the silver light he had cupped in his hand.
"No!" I yelled, realising just what he had said just as Ian flew through the doors. "You can't just let her die!"
While Ian snatched Wanda away from Doc and put her in the nearest Cyrotank, I shoved Doc against the wall with the scalpel from his tray of medical stuff and pressed it against his neck.
"Its what she wants!" Doc managed to gasp out. I put my face close up to his sop that our noses almost touched, trying to ignore Ian's crying/
"I don't care!" I snapped "We'll find another body!"
"But…" Doc tried to protest.
"Shut up!" Ian ordered, his voice marred with agony "We'll find another body."
Yeah, another body.
