this is pretty short and... not that good but hey it's something i guess
"This isn't going to work, brother. We need a better plan"
"Oh, do you have any better ideas?"
One hour. That's how long the Elric brothers have been chasing this kitten around Central Headquarters. Al had snuck the tiny black and white tabby into his armour while his brother was busy ranting about Colonel Mustang, or as Ed liked to call him, 'Colonel Bastard'.
"We wouldn't even be here chasing this damned cat if you had've just left it where you found it." Ed mumbled.
"What else could I have done? Leave the poor thing out there in the freezing cold? You're so cruel sometimes—"
"Shh!" interrupted Ed, "There it is, I'll sneak up on it and try grab it."
Edward tiptoed carefully towards the kitten. 'Now's my chance…' He jumped forward, catching it in a tight grip.
"Aha! Gotcha!"
"Be careful! It probably has really sharp—"
Al was interrupted by cries of pain from his brother.
"—claws…"
"Ow!" he hissed. "The little shit! It almost scratched the face off me!"
"Well I was trying to warn you about it."
Ed sighed on defeat. Chasing a stupid cat around for almost two hours now wasn't an ideal way to spend your day.
"Edward? Alphonse?"
Both brothers jumped in surprise. Lieutenant Hawkeye was standing behind them.
"What are you two doing out here?"
"Oh— um, just— y'know—" Ed stuttered "h—hanging around."
"And what happened to your face?" She questioned.
"I, uh—"
Al cut in, "He was walking outside but he tripped and scraped his face on some stones!"
"Uh-huh," she mumbled, sounding unconvinced. "Well don't forget about your report, Edward. The Colonel wouldn't be too happy if you were late again."
"Right, thanks Lieutenant…" he muttered.
The Lieutenant bid them goodbye and continued on her way.
"Shit… I completely forgot about the report," Ed stated bleakly. "That stupid Colonel is gonna kill me…"
"Go tell him you'll have your report in tomorrow, I'll keep looking for the cat."
Edward stood outside Colonel Mustang's office, suddenly being filled with an overwhelming sense of dread.
"Better just get it done and over with…" he mumbled to himself.
"Uh, Colonel, I—"
He was made speechless by what he saw. Thousands of tiny shreds of paper, probably some important paperwork, all scattered around the floor of the office. The culprit, the same black and white tabby they've been chasing around Central Headquarters for what must have been two hours now, was held in a firm grip by the Colonel himself.
"Fullmetal," he began. "You wouldn't happen to know anything about a cat running loose around here, would you?"
i... really don't like the ending but better stuff will (hopefully) be coming soon B^)
