PLEASE READ THIS! VERY IMPORTANT!

This is a rewrite of The End Of An Age. After some thinking, I decided to include multiple POVs. The one person POV just wasn't working for me, and I had already started rewriting the chapters after some advice from a friend.

Even if you have been keeping up with the story, I would go back and reread it. Some parts are the same, but I have added and changed some parts of the story.

I hope you are excited to read this as I am to write it. Enjoy!

Avatar: The Last Airbender Becomes Real (Unfortunately)

Percy's POV:

The day started out normally. I was hanging out with my friends and doing my lessons before Chiron called counselors meeting out of the blue.

We were all seated at the ping pong table wondering why Chiron called us here. Connor gorged on food while the rest of us just talked among ourselves.

I silently hoped it wasn't another prophecy. The last thing I needed was another prophecy to take over my life.

Conversations stopped when we heard the familiar whirring of a motorized wheelchair. Chiron then entered the room in his wheelchair.

"You all must be wondering why I called you here. Before you jump to conclusions, there is no prophecy," everyone let out of breath, "but there are monsters at the border near Thalia's tree.

I believe they are remnants of Gaia and Kronos' army. There aren't many so I would like a few of you to go and get rid of them."

Chiron looked around the table as everyone became interested in something else. Honestly, I don't blame them. With two back-to-back wars, we were all ready to just relax.

Then, Piper let out of sigh and raised her hand. "I'll go get rid of the monsters. It looks like no one else will volunteer."

Again, people let out a sigh of relief. I didn't understand why they were getting worked up about monsters. It's a normal thing, so I didn't understand why no one wanted to get rid of them.

"Great! I would like Piper to have a backup; does anyone else want to go?" Chiron gave a forced cheerful glance around the room.

I groaned and raised my hand. If no one else is going to go, I would. "I'll do it."

"Excellent! You two, go get ready. I would like to have those monsters vaporized by dinner. Any questions?"

We shook our heads and filed out of the room. On the way out, Piper caught my arm.

"Let's meet at Thalia's tree in 10 minutes," she said.

"Alright," I replied, leaving to go get ready.

I met Piper at Thalia's tree. We both just wore casual clothing. I honestly didn't feel the need to put on full armor for a couple of monsters

"How do you think we should approach this?" she asked as soon as I got closer.

"Well, we could sneak up on them and try and take out as many as we can without drawing the group's attention, like you did just before we attacked the Giants," I suggested.

"Then we could each take half. He said there weren't that many, so there shouldn't be a problem," she finished.

Liking the plan, we started to search for the monsters.

We were silent as we walked down the hill. The silence was a little awkward; I hadn't really been alone with Piper before.

Apparently, she felt it too because she broke the silence.

"Didn't you notice how no one wanted to go take care of the monsters? I didn't really want to go, but I wasn't going to leave it to somebody else."

I nodded. "I noticed it too. Even Annabeth was quiet. I don't think any of us wanted to go kill monsters, but it was really strange how everyone just looks down and refused. I didn't want to go either, but as you said, I'm not going to leave it to somebody else."

She nodded, and we lapsed into silence.

It wasn't long after that before we heard noises. We hid behind some bushes as we took in the scene. There were more monsters than Chiron had said that were. I had thought he meant 5 or 6, but there had to have been 30 or so.

I sent a confused glance to Piper, who answered with a shrug. So I hadn't heard wrong.

Fortunately, there were only cyclops's, empousai, dracaena, and hellhounds.

Despite that, I wasn't liking our odds. Piper and I were good fighters, but I wasn't confident about us taking on 30 monsters at once.

I tried to push down the unease and uncertainty. I tried to tell myself it was only monsters. Still, it didn't go away.

I looked at Piper, who nodded. We crept around the circle of monsters, taking out the loners and the ones in the back. Unfortunately, I stepped on a stick and found myself surrounded by six ugly cyclops's.

They grinned down at me and hefted their clubs.

I dropped to the ground and swung my sword in a large arc, slicing off the cyclops's legs. Monster dust rained down on me. When I stood back up, I was quickly sandwiched between two hellhounds who tried to bite my head off. They're bad breath nearly made my nose fall off.

I turned and quickly stabbed one of them in the chest, and instinctively stepped back. The other hellhounds head snapped around where I had just been. I swung my sword and decapitated it.

As I battled two dracaenas, I glanced over at Piper. She threw her knife, taking out a cyclops, leaving it embedded in a tree. I turned back to my own fight. I slashed and stabbed. But for each I took down, another took its place.

Time passed, and there were only a few lefts. Unfortunately, the best remained. This time I was battling Kelli. We went back and forth, only managing to get in minor scrapes. She kicked me to the ground with her metal leg, sending my sword flying. I knew that was going to bruise. She leaned over me and sneered, "Looks like third time's the charm!"

As she came closer, I felt my sword return to my pocket. I took it out and uncapped it, leaving it to fully extend into her stomach. Her shocked face crumbled to sand.

As I got up, Piper screamed my name.

Still fighting monsters of my own, I looked over at her. It didn't look good. She didn't look wounded, only a few notable scrapes and bruises. Her sword lay quite a few feet away, and she was on the ground, hellhounds closing in.

Dread filled my stomach. Piper was going to get shredded if I didn't help her, but I was going to get my head bashed in if I didn't finish these cyclopes.

Still, the monsters got closer. With no weapons near, the best Piper could do was kick at them and hope that they didn't bite her leg off.

I started to panic. Since I was distracted, bruised, and tired, I could only keep the cyclopes at bay for so long. Piper couldn't die, and yet it looked like that was going to happen.

Piper's shouts filled my ears. As I looked around in a panic, the remaining monsters got closer to both of us. The world spun. The monsters sneered and snarled as they closed in for the kill. Just as they got close, panic filled my head. Why couldn't they just-

"STOP!" I screamed, sweeping my arms out in a wide arc. I felt a pulling sensation in my gut, and everyone was silent.

Breathing heavily, I looked around, horror growing on my face. Everyone was frozen. Still feeling a pulling sensation, I put the pieces together, and I didn't like the picture.

I looked at Piper. The monsters were inches away from her face, and yet she stared at me. She blinked hard and snapped out of her trance.

"Kill them!"

We rushed around and cut them down quickly. With no monsters left, we looked at each other, not saying anything.

Piper said something first. "Did you-"

"I think so."

"How did you-"

"I have no idea."

"Well-"

I cut her off for the third time. "I think we both know what I did, and I don't think either of us wants to admit it. I don't know how I did it, but I do know one thing. We can't tell anyone."

Piper's POV:

"Well-"

Percy again, cut me off. "I think we both know what I did, and I don't think either of us wants to admit it. I don't know how I did it, but I do know one thing. We can't tell anyone."

I looked at him and saw the fear on his face. I think he knew that he had just controlled the monster's blood.

It was the only explanation. I didn't know much about blood's composition, but it moved like water. From what Annabeth told me, Percy could control liquids, not just water.

I was a little freaked out if I was being honest. My head was swirling with possibilities. He could stop armies with a wave of his hand, break someone's neck with the twitch of a rest. But he could also stop internal bleeding or keep blood circulating to keep someone alive.

In the end, I knew it wasn't my place to tell him how to use his power. He used it to save me, and I owed him.

"Alright, it'll stay between us. I know that you didn't ask for this, but you have it now, and you need to control it." I said.

Percy relaxed, if only slightly. "How do I keep it from happening again? If anyone else sees this, they're going to freak. I don't want it to happen again."

He looked a little shaken, and I wondered what he meant by I don't want it to happen again.

"Again? What happened?" I asked tentatively.

Percy seemed to retreat inside himself, and I cursed myself for pushing.

"Nothing," he muttered.

I looked at him warily. I knew this wasn't the time or place to hear about it, but I was still curious. I watched as he became lost in his own memories, something that had become much more common since he had escaped Tartarus.

I made a split-second decision.

"I'll help you. I'll help you control your powers so this won't happen again."

"Really?" His whole demeanor brightened, which I found a little cute.

I laughed. "Yes, I'll help you. But we really should be getting back to camp."

He nodded, and once I retrieved my weapons, we started the walk back to camp

What did you think? I hope you like this as much as I do. The next chapter will be up in a few days.
