Hi Everyone! This my very first time writing a sad story! Please review alot!!!
Chapter 1: The Boat Ride
"Wow!! Look at that view!!" I cried as the boat pulled closer to the dock, " I can't believe I get to work and live in a place like this!"
"I have never met another girl like Rose. You can make every little thing and make it sound good even if its really terrible!" answered Pa, the captain and owner of The Rose Bud.
"Pa, you make me sound like an angel." I said in my teasing voice.
Here I was, a 19-year-old woman, off to start a new live in Mineral Town. I, Miss Rose Hall, was the first Hall to ever leave the City to start a new life. I was got a job at a shop called "Grandfather's Animals". It was a shop owned an older man who said just to call him Sir. My father was a little hurt that I wanted to leave the City and my family but he got over it.
"Here we are Mineral Town!" Pa said into the microphone that was connected to the boat's speaker system. I thought it was a little silly to say that because me and a guy called Cliff were the only ones on and this was the only stop.
"Bye Pa. I will miss you." I said softly as I hugged my father.
"And I will miss you." He answered as he slipped a package into my hand, "Don't open that until I'm far away."
I stepped off and the boat started off and then disappeared into the sunset. I looked down at the package in my hand. As I opened, I saw what in was! In the box laid a check for $10,000 and a locket. As I open the locket I saw a picture of my Pa and me.
I put on the locket and turned around to see Cliff standing there.
"Hi… I'm Cliff." He said in a soft tone that could make anyone melt. "I was wondering if you needed any help with your bags. You're staying at Doug's Inn right?"
I nodded as he picked up my bags. As we started toward the Inn, I noticed a storm was picking up.
"I hope Pa makes it back ok." I thought as I started into town.
