"Cinderpaw!" cried Fireheart running to the gray mound of fur on the side of the thunderpath. He stared down at her, noticing the slight rise and fall of her chest. He quickly picked her up by the scruff and half carried her back to camp. Tigerclaw was trying to kill Bluestar, but Cinderpaw went instead! Fireheart realized angrily upon reaching camp.

Yellowfang immediately realized something was wrong and rushed over."Get her over to my den, and hurry!" she commanded the fame-colored warrior rushing to get her herbs. Fireheart rushed Cinderpaw to the den, setting her down gingerly and told Yellowfang what had happened. She quickly looked her over, feeling her bones for fractures, and sighed in relief, "She's just in shock, she doesn't appear to have any injures."

Fireheart nearly collapsed from relief, "thank Starclan," he whispered. He stared down at the apprentice, who had began to stir, and realized how much she meant to him. Why, he didn't know what he would do if she had been killed by the monster. Suddenly he remembered that Tigerclaw had caused this. His claws unsheathed at this, and he nearly ran up to the muscular tom right then and swiped him in the face. He had to get him out of the clans, I'll tel Bluestar, and make sure she believes me he vowed. Calming down he stared down to meet the blue gaze of Cinderpaw.

"What happened?," she mewed, realizing where she was. She quickly stood up and began cleaning the dirt from her coat, gagging at the strong taste of the thunderpath.

"You were nearly hit by a monster," Fireheart replied, "thankfully you received no injuries." He then licked a tuft of fur on her head, cringing slightly at the bitter taste. "I'm very glad you're okay, what do you say we go hunting?"

"Of coarse," Cinderpaw meowed, her eyes sparkling with excitement. The two then began to head off to the forest when Sandstorm padded over.

"May I join you?" she purred staring at Fireheart happily. Her gaze shifted suddenly and she began to glare at Cinderpaw. "Or is this a private moment."

"I guess you could come.." muttered Fireheart. Sandstorm gladly came up to Fireheart, slightly nudging Cinderpaw out of the way. After a while, when Sandstorm had caught a mouse and two shrews, Cinderpaw was closing in on her first mouse of the day. As she leaped for the small rodent, Sandstorm stepped on a stick, causing the mouse to nearly run away from Cinderpaw's kill. Fireheart glared at Sandstorm who only shrugged.

"I smell another, this ones mine," she whispered to Fireheart who rolled his eyes. She slowly crept forward, not noticing the glint of silver. She landed exactly on the silver object which closed tightly around her paw, causing her to land awkwardly. Suddenly a loud crack rang through the forest as she jerked trying to free her paw. She yowled in pure agony as Fireheart and Cinderpaw stared in disbelief. Snapping out of it, Fireheart ran for Yellowfang, who came quickly.

Yellowfang glanced quickly at the leg and hung her head, "she can be freed, but the damage is done, her leg is broken, she may never be a warrior again."
