A/N: If you hadn't already read the summary, THIS IS NOT A HAPPY STORY! It's very depressing, multiple possible trigger warnings, and a sad, horrible life for Granny. Also, racism against Granny's lover. Not my views, but important in the story nonetheless. In the meantime; happy first Granny fanfiction! I'm sort of proud of myself!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own the game "Granny," nor did I create it. All of this has come purely from my mind and a little research, and this backstory is not remotely canon.

Donna Parker was born May 29, 1956. She was a pleasant child, always compliant to rules and tasks, and almost never cried as an infant. When Donna had been born, her family was pleased to see that she had inherited her father's beautiful blonde hair and her mother's striking, light blue eyes. In short, she appeared to be the perfect daughter.
After Donna turned eight, a horrible sickness befell her family. The disease affected the angelic child too, settling in her eyes and rendering her almost blind. Because of this illness, her eyes developed to be even lighter than the shade Donna had been born with. They became almost completely white.
She had a very hard childhood after that. The child did not think it fair that she could only a see shadow and could not tell where anything was, while her entire family had gotten away from the fateful disease with no consequence. She did not think it fair that everyone else would find love and she could not, because she couldn't do simple housewife tasks without help. Sure, Donna had been able to memorize where things were, and feel her way around things, but she could not cook, clean, or anything else that required seeing.
Over time, Donna developed very good hearing. She could find things that moved, like her parents or her rough-housing siblings, simply because the floor creaked or they knocked into something. This, Donna could be proud of, but it wasn't enough. Nothing was ever enough.
One day, Donna's brother decided to take his now sixteen-year-old sister to a public gathering, and Donna met a very nice man by the name of Breen Nonni. The two fell in love, and they were very happy together.
The rest of the Parker family, however, was not as pleased. They had put up with a ruined, blind daughter, but now she wanted to go off and marry some dirty Indian man. They were sure that Donna was only okay with it because she couldn't see him, so they tried to talk her out of it. They realised they failed when Donna reminded them that she could see colors. She couldn't see him. She was fully aware of his race, and she was perfectly fine with it.
Her parents disowned her.
Now it was just Breen and Donna, and they bought a large, cheap house in the woods to accommodate the both of them. Even through all of the events that had happened to the couple, they considered themselves very lucky. They even had a daughter, which they named Angelina. The two would spend hours planning their wedding with their baby, then toddler, then school-age child.
Then another misfortune tore at Donna's family. Lung cancer ended up killing Breen, and Donna was left to care for their child on her own, blind and confused. Angelina helped as much as she could, but she wasn't very good at it, considering she had no one to teach her.
No one was there to help, family or in-laws, along with no widow's inheritance since Breen and Donna had never been able to get properly married. Mother and daughter struggled to live.
When Angelina was ten, a terrified boy came stumbling in on the little cottage in the woods. His name was Simon, and Donna decided to take him in as her own. He helped with chores the other two struggled with, and was considered an amazing asset to the makeshift family.
Angelina and Simon grew up, fell in love, and had a daughter of their own. Donna's grandchild was named Slendrina. The new grandmother's favorite past time was to hold her grandchild she would never get to see. The feeling was mutual, and Slendrina declared that her "Granny's house" was her favorite place in the world.
Then Slendrina had to be taken to an asylum for paranoia, drowning Donna in despair.
Hope arrived when Slendrina was finally released. The next day, news reached Donna. Awful, terrible news that drove her over the edge. All the family she had left was dead. It appeared to have been murder.
Police arrived to find an old woman sobbing, ripping up a picture of her and her deceased granddaughter. A painting Breen had created, and she had never gotten to look at. The police took her to her daughter's house to collect belongings. Donna grabbed whatever she felt would help her: an alarm system, some boxes, a couple of locks and keys, Slendrina's old playhouse, Simon's baseball bat he had bought at the market, the list went on.
She was taken back to her house in the woods, her old, decrepit house that no one could take care of, creaky, unoiled, and covered in grime. Donna sat in her old bedroom for five days, anger growing up inside her, pondering her life. Five days in total darkness, old age finally getting to her, not eating, not taking care of her teeth or face, her hair falling out and her nails getting long.
Donna Parker was dead November 6, 2017. Her misfortune of a life had driven her to become a vengeful, angry shell of a woman during her last days of life, and decided that she was not willing to go yet. In a rage of spite and hurt, her spirit took back her decaying corpse and decided to make everyone that went near her suffer as she had suffered. Her painting changed to show her now decaying body because of her actions. She set up clues around the house, constructed little ways to get out, built a guillotine, and made everything clear to everyone she trapped; she could hear everything and they had five days to live, just like she had.
Two people had already died in that house, why shouldn't Granny add a few more?

A/N: I have no idea why I came up with such an evil, sad story. I hope you liked the writing skills, the story isn't as enjoyable, and please review! Do you think this could have been what happened? Also, if you strongly disagree or know a canon backstory, do not flame me. This was for fun, it is not meant to be taken seriously.
