AN: I really hated that chapter. You could just see the story bend as Pittacus Lore attempts to write commentary and it's rather pathetic. I hated it, so here this is.

Caleb looked up at his home, and shuffled his feet as he considered going in. He wasn't sure how his family would react to him being a Human Garde, and wasn't sure if his powers would ostracise him. The decision was made for him, however, when one of his brothers poked his head out a window and yelled "Oi! Caleb's back! Get in here we're watching football!"

Caleb nudged open the door and glanced in. No pranks or any traps awaited him, and so he walked in and took off his boots. Her was folding his umbrella when his brother, Kyle, came bounding down the stairs and hollered "Come on you little pansy Merry Christmas!"

Cameron dragged him into the living room and saw Christian staring fixated at the TV, while his mother cooked something in the kitchen. Kyle ran his hands up and down Caleb's sides as if he was checking for extra appendages and asked "How's the little soldier camp shrimp? No invasive surgeries yet huh?"

Caleb let a laugh escape as he remembered his eldest brother's strange humour. Maybe the military had tempered both of them a little, but it kept them both sharp exchanging barbs with each other. "Nah Kyle. Just training and therapy for us who fought against the Mogs."

The room became somber at that, as they all remembered their helplessness when Mogadorian ships floated above America and kept them all hostage. Kyle forced a smile and invited "C'mon, let's go see how the game is going huh?"

They hometown team was losing badly, and the three brothers were jeering every time they fumbled the ball. End of the third Christian jumped up and announced "The fuckin' three of us could play better than these clowns! Guess the recruiting pool really dried up huh?"

Caleb summoned 12 clones strewn about in various poses around him and said "I bet I could play better than these guys huh?"

Unfortunately the joke fell flat. Kyle and Christian were staring open mouthed at Caleb's legacy, and immediately Caleb felt shy. The clones clustered around him and one said "Yea? What about it?"

From the kitchen Caleb's mother peeked out wondering what the sudden silence was, and saw the strange situation. She hesitantly called out "Caleb, dear? You know I can't feed all of you right?"

That broke the tension and his clone laughed as they disappeared one by one.

Christian peered at the last remaining clones, then looked up at Caleb and asked "Any other cool things you can do?"

After showcasing his limited telekinesis Caleb just shrugged and said that was it. His brothers ragged him about not getting any cool legacies like stone-vision or flight, but Caleb took it in good faith.

When his Uncle, General Lawson, arrived, he was pleasantly surprised to see Caleb joining his brothers so easily. At the very least, Caleb would learn to love his family again.
