Hey it's me Soueless it's been quite a while from the last time I've written for you guys sorry about that. Now I got inspiration from pictures on Pinterest about Overwatch and so I wanted to write my own versions of a type of look inside the minds of those in Overwatch. I hope you enjoy and maybe if you enjoy it draw it I'd love to see what y'all do thx for reading. (I do not own the game or characters or anything having to do with the world/lore/Overwatch game the rights of ownership belong to their rightful owners.)

Soldier 76 sate on the edge of a cliff overlooking what's left of a broken battlefield from the past, skeletal and mechanical corpses lay across the field grass growing over and around them almost completely erasing the blood stained battlefield. Next to him lay his trusted rifle for once not in his hands ready to fight, it's dent's and battle scars glistening in the setting sun. Soldier 76 better known as Jack payed no attention to his surroundings. He was calm his normally tensed shoulders relaxed as he gazed down at a old photo.

"We were a family once." He said under his breath squeezing the old crinkled photo. It was faded but the faces like ghost's from the past, visible but seemingly so distant. He reached into his jacket with his free hand pulling out a Overwatch medallion about the size of his palm. Brushing his thumb across it he flipped it over on the other side engraved into the back was the words.

We are family, and family protects each other till the end. He squeezed the medallion as a drop of water fell from his mask hitting the medallion.

"I miss you all." He said folding up the photo and stuffing it in his jacket with the medallion. Standing up he took his rife holding it gingerly in his hands he turned around gazing at a city a beam of light in the night as the sun finally set. Darkness fell across the cliff and the field Jack glanced back at the battlefield as words rung in his head from a dear friend.

"Death isn't pretty but what can come from death is life and beauty, death is never the end." As those words swam in his head red lights rose from the battlefield and around jack. Firflies as red as a Blood Moon came from the grass from the carcasses filling the cliff and field with a beautiful light. Jack looked back towards the city.

"I'm coming home." He took his first step towards home.

I hope you enjoyed this short little story as much as I enjoyed writing it. I do hope to do more with other characters but we will see. I can't wait to hear from all of you and see what you have to say. As usual don't be afraid to leave a comment I love reading them see you all next time.
