Are You My Future? Or My Past?

Master Numair's experiments never came out wrong. Ever. Sometimes they didn't come out as he had planned, but they were never wrong. Unfortunately, his most recent experiment had come out very differently from what he planned.
He was trying to make a spell that would allow King Jonathan to see what would come of some of his most important decisions. Only when he said the final line of his spell, the only thing that happened was a sharp smell of vinegar and, oddly enough, singed hair. (He found out later that the singed hair smell was his eyebrows. At least, they WERE his eyebrows.)

Kelley Mindler was hanging out at the Grooving Grouse Beach Burger Shack with her other sophomore friends, Needle ( his real name was Ned, but only his aunt called him that) Quensove, Chris Kender, Ronald Coater, Mickey Honderhose, Owen Jesslew, and Kelley's ex-boyfriend and nemisis Josh Stoker was there with his friends Gerrold Runter and Vincent Gentle, just to annoy her. Running the counter was Kelley's older sister Ingrid, and Ingrid's best friend Veronica Saddle. The manager, Noureem Salash, who still didn't trust the teenagers to be in his restaurant without him, watched. Kelley and Josh had often gotten into fistfights, especially when Josh pushed the freshmen around.
Kel, as her friends called her, was asking her friends, trying to figure out who got what, and who hadn't paid. Just as she handed her money to Ingrid, the restaurant began to go into a wild earthquake. The after shocks lasted a few seconds, and oddly enough, a smell of vinegar. Kel later thought she imagined it, but she could have sworn she heard somebody yelling, "WHERE ARE MY EYEBROWS!?!"

As the smoke cleared, Numair sat up and to his shock, looked into the very surprised faces of Keladry of Mindelan and Nealan of Queenscove. Only something was very, very wrong.
" Um, Lady Kel, why are you wearing a thong bikini?"
