She woke up shivering to find her friends sound asleep. She looked around the camp at them. Miroku was leaning against a tree with Sango not far from him. Kagome then moved the little fox kit from her lap and placed him back on the sleeping bag. She looked above at the empty trees.
"Inuyasha," she whispered. "Where are you?"
At that moment one of Kikyo's soul collectors decided to pass by and Kagome's hands tightened into fists. So that's where he went. Ever since her soul had split and Kikyo was recreated, Inuyasha went out to her every time he had the chance. It made her sick. He said he would always be there for her, yet every night he goes off to see her.
Kagome stood up and followed the soul collector into the forest. When Inuyasha and Kikyo came into view, she hid. She kept quiet to listen to what they were saying.
Kikyo advanced towards the inu," Don't you love me Inuyasha?" He could only nod and embrace her. While this was going on, Kagome was seething with rage. She was about to come out of hiding but the words said next froze her in her place.
"If you truly love me, you will kill that miko girl that travels with you at midnight tomorrow."
Inuyasha only answered, "If this is what you desire I will do just that" Then they shared a passionate kiss.
