SHADOW
So quiet. Silence hurts. Music of the heart's rhythm…followed by shallow breaths. You turn to me. "Why?" you're eyes plead. I do not know. Their pain. I can not reject it. The distance between us ceases… but who has moved and who has stood still. Shadow casted by fallen stone angel is where we stand. Not together… not apart. I feel as if I have the answer to your question…. But what is your question in the first place?
I am an answer to be read not a question to be heard. Somebody told me that before. He also told me to follow my emotions. But what are they? Either too many or not at all present. Both a liability and strength. What do I feel? I close my eyes. Blue. That is the only way to describe it. Open. The fallen angel looks down at us. Perhaps he sees those like himself and offers shade. The darkness envelops us. For us to remain there without a trace so that we won't recognize our own true face. The shadow. And we sooth each other without doing so.
It is easier to stay in the darkness than walk towards the blinding momentary light.
