Soothing the Seer
My first WD fic.
Disc. I don't own Watership Down, there, I said it.
Thlayli Bigwig
Stirath-Rah Gen. Woundwort
Koteth Hazel
Hrairoo Fiver
The rest of the Lapine you probably know. I might even write a Lapine version of this fic.
"They never thought it would happen, but it did. They thought he was dead, they thought the dog did away with him.
Stihrath-rah had returned.
Foam dripped from his mouth, scratches reminding the warren of that terrible day he came. They thought Thlayli taught him, they thought the dog killed him off. They went to see the aftermath and saw Efrafan
bodies, scattered around the grass, bleeding, twitching bodies. Then they went around the other side of the tree and saw a large body. It was the dog, it's throat was shredded. Claw marks and a bite mark on it's neck. Flies swarmed around it to lay it's eggs in the gaping hole. Then they realized, Stihrath did the impossible,
He killed a dog.
There was no possible way of killing him now. Thats when they heard screams. They hopped back inside and saw that he had defeated Thlayli, blood dripped from his teeth as he turned around and saw Kothen & Hrairoo, standing fearfully at the sight of the blood-soaked rabbit. Stihrath smiled sadistcally,
and ran toward them. Hrairoo hid behind his older brother, whimpering like a kitten. Kothen charged, but found himself swatted down with sharp claws. He felt the Efrafan leader slash his stomach, opening it. Then he felt the sharp pain of teeth entering his throat. Blood dripped down his face as he felt his windpipe being removed from it's place in his neck. Then, he felt nothing.
He walked over to the cowering rabbit, who had tears running down his face. He felt warm, hot blood drip down onto his fur. All of a sudden, he heard someone say, "Wake up," over and over.
Wake up
wake up
wake up
wake up
"Hrairoo, ma rusati, please wake up," Hazel-rah had said to the little rabbit, tears still running down his face. All of a sudden, Fiver woke up. Panting, crying, sobbing about the General being alive. Hazel-rah gently pulled his brother close to him by the scruff of his neck. Cuddling him close, allowing the little rabbit to saturate the older's fur with bitter tears. "It's okay, roo rusati, shhhhh, shhh," he comforted.
Fiver buried his head in Hazel-rah's fur, sobbing and whimpering. Hazel-rah responded with nuzzling his brother's back with his face, hoping to soothe the ache that plagued his younger brother. "I (hic) dreamed, t-t-t-that y-y-you and Bigwig w-w-w-(hic)-were k-k-k-killed," he hiccuped, but Hazel-rah told him," We're both alive and well, rusati," Fiver looked up at his brother and smiled some. He layed his head beside Hazel-rah's side, trying to gather warmth. "I'll protect you, Hrairoo, no matter what happens, I'll be there for you," the older whispered reassuringly. He then looked beside him and saw the little rabbit asleep, a little smile on his face. "I'm here for you, Hrairoo, ma rusati," he whispered and slept along with him.
R&R. No flames, I beg of you. I'm slightly new to WD, so, yeah, no flames. And Bigwig's okay too.
