Disclaimer: I don't own ER or anything relating to it and I am making no monies off of this story
Author's Note: This is an idea I had after watching "A Hopeless Wound". It's inspired mainly by Luka's angst thing that the writers have going on and the beginning of "Walk Like A Man". I know that its sort of odd, but at the end it makes sense. All conversation between Luka and his visitors is in Croatian. Please Review!
A dark haired woman walked into the ER, her three children behind her. She looked around the chairs, as if she was trying to find somebody. No one there was the person that she had been longing to see. Finally after searching for quite a few minutes, she walked over to the admit desk.
"Hello. I am looking for Luka Kovac." she said in an extremely thick accent
"He's over in curtain one." Jerry replied and pointed to where it was
The woman took her kids, and proceeded to the area that was pointed out to her. Then she saw him, the man that she loved with every part of herself. He was still handsome and had those eyes that she could get lost in. All the memories came back to her, every last one that she had forced herself to forget.
"Husband!" she cried out in Croatian
Luka's ears registered the voice, and when they did, he dropped the chart that he was holding. His jaw dropped and tingles went up and down his spine. That was the voice of his wife, the wife that he had been his only true love that he had ever felt. Slowly he turned around, and he saw her. She was standing right there, with three children.
"I only had two children." he thought to himself
"Cookie?" he whispered to her in his native tongue
"Yes. It's me, and our children."
Luka, in English, turned to the patient that he was getting a history on and said, "Excuse me," and then got up and left.
He practily ran over to his wife, and hugged her in an embrace that brought him a sense of peace that he had been lacking since the day his life was torn in to millions of pieces, never to be repaired fully.
"Oh, I missed you. You're supposed to be dead, cookie. You and our children."
"But we're here with you Luka."
"Follow me so we all can have some privacy."
Luka led his family to a vacant suture room and locked the door.
"Cookie, we had two children. You showed up with three."
"I was pregnant when the bomb was dropped. In fact I had just found out after you left. The doctor called a few seconds after you closed the door."
"Oh, if I would have known."
"Her name is Anastasia, Luka, after my mother."
"Daddy?" the child finally said after working up the courage to speak
"It's Daddy, Anastasia. I won't ever leave you ever again. I won't ever leave you or your brother and sister or your Mommy."

The train woke him from his slumber and brought him back to reality. His feet were intertwined with Chuny's. Her arms were draped over his back, so he slowly got out of her bed. He got some coffee and walked over to the window. He promised that he wouldn't leave his family, he did. Their love was the only that kept him going some days and he had betrayed that love. Then it hit him, all the other women that he had been with wouldn't, or even could match his wife's love for him.
