Link was in the trance of a heavy sleep, one that was filled with many nightmares. About a man in black armor who planned to obtain the golden triangles of legend…The Triforce. The dream consisted of Link, standing in front of a castle town somewhere in the sacred land of Hyrule. The night was dark. Clouds filled and billowed across the sky. Lightning struck continuously. The storm was heavy, the rain came down in extreme amounts, and it poured down so hard it stung Link's skin like millions of small needles pricking him.
He rotated his head toward the town's bridge as it came down. He then turned his body so he was looking straight forward. When the drawbridge finished its route downward to the ground, he was then unpleasantly, and unexpectedly greeted by the princess and a woman of a race unknown to him, riding on the back a white horse. The princess looked over at him with a severe look of distress on her face. He knew he couldn't even imagine how scared she must have been. The little girl appeared to have tears streaming from her face, in fear of something. Link found out why she was so afraid…He turned back around from watching them go off into the distance.
The white horse was then followed by the evil man riding on the back of a pure black horse. The horse was adorned with a saddle that had décor that looked as if it were from the more exotic place of the deserts. Link stared up at the man with shock as the horse reared up and whinnied. The desert man peered toward Link and smirked as he summoned an orb of electric power to his hand. It matched the look of the lightning in the skies. The sound of static rang in Link's ears. Link standing with his mouth agape, watched the man. He knew that this orb of incredible power was going to head toward him if he didn't get away as fast as he could. Though his legs seemed stiff…he couldn't get away. He couldn't run. His feet were as if they were in the quicksand of the faraway deserts.
Just as the man released the orb of power, Link awoke. He, panting, said and reminded himself it was only a dream. Nothing like that would ever happen. That day, he was chosen by the fairy, Navi, and summoned to the Great Deku Tree, only to test his strength and find out he was the hero that needed to be to save the land of Hyrule from the evil man from his dreams. Link never looked at the nightmare the same again. As he knew, someday, the dream would become reality.
