How Could I Forget?

Disclaimer: I do not own PJO nor any of Rick's characters, just the plot

A year. It had been over a year and she was still trying to forget him. The machine oil and greasy smell, the crazy look in his eyes when he got excited about something. How he made fire dance across those long and slender fingers.

"No" she scolded herself. "If you keep thinking about him you'll... you'll start to-" but thee tears had already started flowing. She told herself she would be okay. She told herself that she could move on, and forget him, but that was impossible. How could anyone forget Leo Valdez?

Calypso woke up early the next day. She had fallen asleep, crying about him, sitting on the beach, so her back and neck were stiff. She gingerly got up, stretching, yawning, and heading back to her lonely cave. Today, her invisible servants served her hot oatmeal with brown sugar and orange juice. When she was done, the servants cleared away her dished and he headed to her garden. She grabbed her tools ( cgi/set?id=103324600 ) and started skillfully pulling out weeds. She did this to try to get her mind off of Leo, but sadly, she finished fairly quickly. She walked back to her cave and cleaned herself up, changing out of her garden attire into this: cgi/set?id=103325917 . She skipped out an lunch, to depressed to eat. As it was nearing sunset, she caught a gleam of something, far off in the distance. She must have been imaging it, but when she rubbed her eyes, it was still there. She frowned. "what is that?" she muttered. It stayed there for a while, and Calypso eventually decided to ignore it and when inside for dinner. Just as she was about to take a small bite of her lasagna, she heard a horn in the distance. She quickly got up and went outside, and what she saw...well... she couldn't believe it. It was a boat, in the distance. If she squinted really hard, she could see a little figure on it, waving their hands. "Weird" she thought. She ordered one of her servants to bring her binoculars. When she looked through them, she nearly screamed. It was him. She couldn't believe her eyes. She handed the binoculars back to the servant and stood in shock as the boat drew closer. When it was about 200 feet from where Calypso stood, he grabbed onto a little contraption and started flying over to her. She didn't know what to do when he landed. He smiled stupidly at her. She was tongue tied, she didn't know whether to cry, laugh or scream. All she could get out was "Why are you here?". It came out a little harsher than she meant it, but Leo just shrugged it off.

"What, you didn't miss me?" he asked jokingly. Calypso regain her composure, walked right up to him, and hugged him. Leo smiled and hugged her back.

"I'll take that as a yes?" he asked laughing.

"Of course you idiot" she said, but her voice was muffled by Leo's shoulder. After a brief silence, she spoke "You..you still remember me?"

Leo looked at her with the sweetest face she had ever seen and replied "How could I forget?"

He hugged her tighter, and she looked up and him, tears brimming her eyes. He leaned down and gave her a sweet, simple kiss. When he pulled back, he looked at her. Probably the biggest smile he'd ever seen was plastered on her face. She grabbed his hand and led him to her cave for lasagna and cuddling.
