Author's note: this story is based in a world where Asuna never existed, and Naruto and SAO took place in the same world. Also, Kirito and Sasuke are both gay and the story is first person from Kirito's perspective. The idea was my friend's, and I'm don't think I'm familiar enough with Sasuke's character to write the whole thing straight away, so don't expect chapter two for quite some time.
It was just earlier today when I looked over at Sasuke, and I realised that the story of our meeting was one that should be told. When I told him this he simply blushed and said, "If you must." He clearly didn't have a problem with it, so here I am writing this now.
I suppose it all started back in SAO, Heathcliff had just revealed himself and I could not hold back. I used all my strength and sent him into the darkest depths of hell with my Elucidator and Dark Repulsor.
And then? Well, I woke up. There's really no other way to explain it. I woke up. Woke up from the NerveGear, woke up from SAO, woke up from what was for two years my reality. It was there, sitting in that hospital bed, that I realised I knew nothing about the world around me. Anything could've happened in the past two years where I essentially didn't exist anywhere but in a video game. The fact that I was in a hospital though was enough to assume that there hadn't been any world domination or something ridiculous like that, so I decided to leave the building.
Still very weak from the extreme lack of exercise I'd experienced, I got up and slowly left the hospital. It happened to be in the middle of the night so no one was there to notice me. I vaguely recognised the place I was in, and happened to stumble into a forest. It was not long before I collapsed on the floor.
At the time, I had no idea that Sasuke was there with me. From what he tells me, he happened to be perched up in a tree at that time. He saw me fall and didn't hesitate to see if I was okay. When I woke up, I was in a small wooden cabin. I looked around, and through a window I could see that I was still in a forest. Sasuke came over to where I was lying on a sofa in the middle of the room and explained everything to me. Apparently he was on a mission to take down some thugs who had been sighted in this forest, and the cabin was a place he was allocated to stay during the process. I begged to come along and told him all about my skills in SAO, but he argued that my muscle needed time to build up again before I could actually do anything in real life. I knew that he was right, but I wasn't going to just wait around while the person who saved me went out and risked his life.
After a while Sasuke finally agreed to let me come. He handed me a sword which was strangely reminiscent of my Elucidator. The sword was incredibly heavy for me at first, but I soon got used to it. He also replaced the hospital clothes I was wearing with some more normal ones he had lying around.
Not long later we set out in search of the thugs. After hours of searching, we tracked them down to an opening in the middle of the forest. I waited behind a large rock for Sasuke's instruction. My heart was beating so fast whenever I got close to Sasuke, and I knew I could never let anything happen to him. Although I was thinking this, I was still well aware that he was much more physically able at the time. As he got up, he told me to stay down. I watched as Sasuke launched over the rock and bolted towards the thugs.
