Summary: Jack comes to a realization that changes his work
slightly.
Pairing : Jack/Sam
A few months after the plan to slowly kill the VCTF members had backfired, Jack of all trades sat in his lair in front of his picture of Samantha, pondering a new plan. He would really like to get rid of John Grant. He seemed pretty whinny, and he didn't understand how anyone working for the government would change their name an alias used by Jame Gumb in that book "Silence of the Lambs." Jack hadn't really liked that book anyway, while he enjoyed reading about Hannibal, the character of Clarice Starling was very two dimensional in his opinion, not worthy of Hannibal's attention. He thinks that part of it must have had something to do with Hannibal being bored, so he made Clarice feel like he actually cared for her.
If the book was about Samantha on the other hand it would be a better book, and it would have made the bestsellers list more than once. He should write Harris a note and complain, tell him if he wanted a real FBI role model he should use Samantha. But Jack wasn't going to do that, he didn't really want the world to be able to have his Samantha, because she was his Samantha. She seemed to be fighting it, first with that stupid fling with Tom, which she didn't even seem to like very much, and then, the fling with Coop. He should kill Coop. That would give him great pleasure. Maybe make a giant cocoon of gum, and string him up. That would be hilarious.
He begins to tap his fingers on the desk, thinking. He picks up one of the cheetos that is scattered near by, and suddenly something hits him. He needs something to totally throw Samantha for a loop. He thinks that this solution will help her see the error of her ways, and come to him like she knows she needs to. She for some reason thinks she should play by convention and act like she is repulsed and terrorized by him. Jack knows the truth though, especially when it comes to the past she has hidden, where in some parts of Virginia as Servant Samantha during some of her Quantico days. He knows she enjoys this greatly, this pursuit most make her extremely happy, it is one of the ultimate forms of torture, she must giggle in her bed thinking about it. But in public she still thinks she must put on a good face.
He will find a surrogate. Not a real surrogate, no one can take Samantha's place, but a blank vessel that he can make believe is a surrogate of Samantha. Someone who is a bit of a bad person, maybe a female convict, who can easily be taught the ways of violence, and used. It will make Samantha jealous, and she will make it look like she is working hard to track him down so that she can arrest him, but both of them will know it will be so that she can reclaim Jack as her own. She doesn't like competition and she won't like the thought of being replaced.
It is a brilliant idea, he thinks. Oh, course all his ideas are brilliant. It will take a couple months to get everything ready, but soon his Samantha will be here with him, where she belongs.
