Note: This work takes in the Kanto region after Ash recently left Pallet Town.

Prologue

Will put on his gloves and smirked. Today was his day; no one could take it away. It was time to start his quest to becoming a Pokemon Master.

Will's Appearance was somewhat show-offish. His height was average, standing at 5'9", and he weighed roughly 170 pounds. His light blonde hair stood out and is a signature of him. His hair was spiked and never stayed the same. It went down to the middle of his neck, and was pretty easy to spot in a crowd. To cover it though sometimes he'd wear a black cap with a red half circle on the front. He had brown large eyes and wore sunglasses over them. His clothes were pretty ordinary. He wore a black and gray jacket over a black and white shirt. He had black gloves that he received from his dad and a red backpack from the same source. He wore white shorts, and has black on the sides. Lastly, He had red shoes that have white tips and black on the side. They go up to his ankles.

"Will! Hurry up the Viridian People are here to see you off!" Will's mom yelled up to him.

Will nodded. "I'm coming Mom, I just need to get Poliwag's Pokeball." He yelled down to her. He picked up his starter Pokemon. He thought of the adventures they had shared already.

He never realized that the day he met his first Pokémon, would be the worst day of his life. Will was just 10 when his dad died in a drowning. No one knows how it happened because, it happened late at night, but nevertheless he wants to find out how. So How did Will get his Pokémon on that fateful day? Well, after Will's dad drowned, Will would always sit by the water in Viridian where his father had passed. One day as he came to the spot he spotted a figure walking away. He walked up to the spot, and he saw a Poliwag knocked out cold with a key around it's neck. He rushed to the Pokémon center where it was cared for. Luckily the Poliwag survived. The Poliwag was told what happened and went to Will, and so they've been best friends since. The key that around his Poliwag's neck, he assumes, is from that mysterious man. Now Will is setting out on an adventure with his trusted Poliwag. He knows that this adventure will be long and hard, but he's ready.

Will stepped up. It was time to go.
