A/N: I seem to be writing a lot lately. Anyway, this is my first LwD fic although I've been reading it for a few years. Tell me what you think :)

Disclaimer: I don't own anyway Life with Derek related but I do enjoy the series very much.

"Derek?"

Her voice broke through his thoughts easily but something was off. Her voice was softer, gentler than it usually is. A quick glance at her confirmed his thoughts. Something was wrong.

"Why are you in my room?" Derek said as he pulled his headphones off his ears and placed them around his neck. If she was going to come to him with her problems, he wasn't going to make it easy on her.

"Do you think I'm bossy?" He gave her a look that told her how completely stupid he thought her question was.

"Yes. Are we done?" Why would she even ask him that question? Of course, he thinks she's bossy, he tells her so nearly everyday.

"Truman told me he thinks I'm too bossy for his tastes. He says I'm too controlling."

"Well, you do try to control a lot of things, Casey. If it bothers him so much, dump him and find someone it doesn't bother." He doesn't even know why they're having this conversation, isn't this Nora and Lizzie's department?

"He dumped me." Oh. Idiot.

"Don't take him back."

"What?" She gives him this startled look and he sighs at having to explain this to her.

"If a guy messes up once and realized how stupid he was, it's okay to take him back but if he's stupid twice, there's no point in taking back an idiot."

"I wasn't going to take him back the first time if you hadn't coerced me too."

"He was sorry and I wanted to take Emily to prom."

"So it's all about you?"

"I didn't-"

SLAM

The door shut and Casey not in his room, Derek slipped the headphones back on. That was interesting. So Truman really is as stupid as he looks. Good riddance.
