Zach's P.O.V.
WHAT? Cammie can't be gone! She just….couldn't have! She declined my offer to run away with me, and then she goes and runs away by HERSELF! She probably thinks she's protecting me. Sometimes I just don't get my Gallagher Girl… Anyway, here's the story on how I found out:
I wandered aimlessly around Gallagher Academy, searching for Cammie. All the other Gallagher Girls had already said their goodbyes and headed to wherever they were going to spend summer break at. After I searched all of her favorite passageways, I headed to her room. That's when I saw it. A packet of paper on the case that held Gilly's sword in the Hall of History. I picked it up and started to skim through it.
It seemed to be a Cove Ops report. I reached the last page, and what I read there made a cold feeling rush through my heart. I reread it, just in case, but it was true. Cammie had run away to find answers. By herself. In search of the Circle of Cavan. My Gallagher Girl isn't the smartest person at times.
I rushed to Cammie's room just to be sure. When I reached her dorm, I threw open the door, but to my disappointment, it was empty. All of the beds had been made neatly, and there were only some of Cam's clothes there. I noticed my jacket and a pang of sadness ran through me. She didn't take it? That's when I remembered. Cammie was GONE. I ran to Headmistress Morgan's office as fast as I could.
I busted in the room, not bothering to knock. I stood in the doorway, my breathing even despite running all the way here. I saw Headmistress Morgan and Joe Solomon in mid-conversation. They stopped speaking when they heard me in the door, the expressions on their faces expectantly waiting for me to speak.
"CAMMIE'S GONE!" I shouted at them. I saw their faces change from waiting to surprise then back to a calm mask. Man, they were spies after all. "What did you say Zach?" Cammie's mom asked me, in a manner that said she heard me the first time. I took a deep breath and repeated myself. "I said…Cammie's gone."
