Her bubbly, fun, pink personality. It had left her.
The pink was fading. The moment I saw the color drain, my heart had shattered. I couldnt believe it. Poppy was the happiest troll in Troll Village.
Her bright pink self had filled the container with light, now was all dark except for the little holes. I was the only one who can make it right, and I was willing to do it. Without hesitation, I tuned.
"You with the sad eyes."
I notice her react to the sudden song, as well as everyone else's. Poppy and others look where the sound was. The trolls in front of me had moved to look at me. I move slowly towards Poppy.
"Don't be discouraged." She looked at me, but turned her head back down to the ground.
I put my knee down to look at her more. I pull her sight towards me.
"Oh I realize, it's hard to take courage. In a world full of people, you can lose sight of it all." Poppy looks back at the ground again.
"The darkness inside you can make you feel so small."
The hug time bracelet on Poppy's wrist had lit up and suspended a flower up, signaling that it was hug time. I offer her a hug, but she covers the bracelet. All of the other trolls' bracelets had done the same. I hear something happen outside of the pot, but was to distracted to figure out.
"Show me a smile then. Don't be unhappy, can't remember when." Poppy stands and walks away from me.
"I last saw you laughing, this world makes you crazy."
I see Poppy crack a smile, "and you've taken all you can bear, just call me up. 'Cause I will always be there, and I see your true colors."
Her pink glow returns, and so does my heart.
"Shining through. I see your true colors, and that's why I love you."
Poppy turns towards me in surprise. Her smile melts my heart. I extend my hand out, hoping she will take it.
"So don't be afraid," Poppy sings as she walks towards me and takes it. On contact, the sky blue color that had been mine as a child started to drain my grey self out, "To let them show your true colors. True colors are beautiful."
All the happy begins to flow through me.
"I see your true colors, shining through." Poppy had started to sing along with me as we started dancing.
"I see your true colors." As we danced, the colors of the other trolls had started returning, bringing more light and emotion to the area.
"That's why I love you. So don't be afraid, to let them show your true colors." "True colors." Poppy repeats.
"Are beautiful. Like a rainbow." "Oh, oh, oh, like a rainbow."
Biggie comes over and plays the harmonica. As embarrassing as it was, I let it slide.
Everyone had surrounded us. Poppy and I hugged and all of my worries about her had disappeared, but we had to fight some Bergens and I knew she was confident.
It had left a smile on my face. I had never been so happy in a long time, and I had Poppy to thank.
