The day after the third task of the TriWizard Tournament felt like a funeral would, and it was not something unexpected after the death of the boy. Charlie would have loved to be back on Romania instead of being at Hogwarts, but to be honest he loved the sight of the castle and the feel of the magic on the grounds.
Maybe he could enjoy the clear skies and fly for a while? The Quidditch Pitch was still being inspected by the Aurors, but Charlie always loved to fly around the tall towers of the Castle instead of flying out in the open.
He grabbed one of the school brooms, an old thing that might have been there since before Charlie first went to Hogwarts, but to him it felt normal and even good. The soft humming of the broom was lively, calling for attention to be used.
Charlie wasted no time before flying high in the air. The people who saw him didn't care, and they shouldn't because Charlie wanted to be alone without thinking about what had happened last night; he hadn't cared for the boy, but he cared for his brother's friend and the boy was in the middle of it all.
His time alone was interrupted by someone darting pass him in a broom of their own. It couldn't be one of the school brooms because of the sheer speed of it, but as soon as the person turned around and Charlie identified the particularly looking nose, he knew who the person was.
He brought the broom to its top speed, which was embarrasingly low compared to Viktor Krum's broom, but it was enough to reach the professional player.
"You fly well," he said in a thick accent, and Charlie liked the sound of his voice. It reminded him to the roar of a Chinese Fireball, which was ironic given that he had faced that same dragon.
"I was on the team for six years," Charlie responded, smiling and leaning back against the air. His broom shook a little but it stayed on the air. "You do more than flying well, though."
Krum let out a laugh. It sounded deep and made Charlie's heart beat fast. "You are right. I can do more than flying."
"I'd love to see what you can do," Charlie said before he could think of what his words meant, but he had no time for blushing because Krum laughed again.
"Maybe I'd like to show you."
