Little Grey Eyes
Under her painted skin
Behind her fresh cherry lips
And in those little grey eyes
Was once where the untouched spirit had been
Where her innocence once laughed with a missing tooth grin
And there, the unmarked territory of her reminiscence begins
High above the clouds
And down below her mountains
Comes a river flowing out of fate's fountain
The tumbling waves and violent splashes were loud
But the water kept on flowing in her shroud
Knowing not to cause a stir in the men's crowd
And the women carried the water
Heavy upon their shoulders
And unbearable for their backs
But they walked, and walked until they reached a slaughter
Where an execution was held for the fisherman's daughter
Then the water poured onto the soil grows a new flower
The flower flows obediently and gracefully in the wind
But still remembers her free skin
And how innocence once laughed with a missing tooth grin
Her petals start to wither because of the women's sin
But her stem grows strong from her anger
And grows above the river
Tall enough to reach for fisherman's daughter
And pull her back into her undisturbed water
