The day is done,
the battle is won,
and for we who are strong,
the days do go on.
And yet sometimes I stop,
when I feel my heart drop,
when I just can't help but think;
we were on the brink.
We couldn't do a thing
to stop the opponent's sting
and yet you proved us all wrong,
like you've been doing for so long.
You saved our last hope,
yet we could barely cope,
when you merely faded away,
without letting us have any say.
I don't think you ever did realize,
even with those ever-penetrating eyes,
that my heart was always yours
just hidden behind locked doors
of denial and reflection
too afraid of pure rejection.
I just hope you see how,
that yes; even now,
after all this time
the one I call mine,
Whenever I look in his eyes -
I think we both realize -
that instead of seeing black,
I wish to see white staring back.

A/N: Well now, how was that? That was only the sixth poem I've ever written in my life, so sorry if it isn't very good; I just woke up in the middle of the night and made it my mission to write this, so twenty minutes later this was in my hands.
I'm not sure why I had such an urge to write NejiTen - it's one of my favorite pairings, but after Chapter 614... - anyway, I don't know why I wrote this, but I guess I just had to add my own two cents to the pairing since all our NejiTen fantasies have been officially crushed by the ever-so-cruel heel of Masashi Kishimoto. I hope you enjoyed, and if you did, please leave a nice little review! I don't usually write poems, so any feedback would be nice for future reference!
