Accusations
Her face was becoming redder by the second. Padma didn't think she had ever seen Luna get so agitated before; but she, herself, was too furious to care too much.
"What do you mean it was just a once off?"
How on earth could Luna have even contemplated that Padma confessing her feelings and Luna responding with gentle kisses, had been a once off? How had she mistaken hand-holding through the grounds of Hogwarts and I love yous as not meaning anything? How had… how had Padma's girlfriend fallen into the arms of another woman – Lavender Brown of all people?
Luna's eyes closed, and it was obvious that she was trying to keep her cool at how the situation was unfolding. In Padma's eyes it was very unlike her. Luna rarely became upset, and on the odd occasion she did, anger wasn't an emotion that was really portrayed.
"Padma… Padma I do not appreciate being accused of something I didn't do!"
"What?" Now Padma felt herself becoming furious. What did Luna mean something she didn't do? Padma had seen with her own eyes, Luna and Lavender curled up in the corner of the library with their hands and mouths all over each other.
"I didn't do anything wrong," Luna said. "I wasn't even –"
"I saw you!" Padma shouted, startling a few passers-by in corridors. "I saw the two of you! You were… you were… all over each other!"
It was the first time in the confrontation that Luna genuinely appeared confused. "Yes, I know."
Padma was bewildered, hurt and confused by the whole situation. Not an ounce of guilt or remorse for what had happened. She spoke as if cheating was the most natural thing in the world.
"So… so it's okay for somebody to cheat on their partner?"
"Of course not."
"Then why on earth did you do it to me?" Padma wanted to know. Tears were now streaming down her face and she could no longer control her anger. Her hand clenched around her wand, ready to curse the young woman where she stood.
"I didn't do anything, Padma!" Luna snapped. "I am at perfect liberty to be with Lavender. I'm sorry if you have feelings for me, but unfortunately my feelings lie with –"
Padma couldn't bear the name to be said. Reaching forwards, she pressed her lips firmly against Luna's; as if cementing that Luna was hers.
Luna retracted, smiling. "Oh, Padma," she sighed, sinking into her arms.
Padma wrapped her arms around the girl, pulling her close. "You're mine for eternity, Luna," she whispered, kissing the blonde hair.
Luna's head nodded against her chest. "Of course," she murmured.
Padma smiled. "I'll never let Lavender brew a love potion again. I'll never let her newar your pumpkin juice again."
Luna didn't say anything. "You're mine forever, Padma."
"Forever," Padma agreed.
I hope you enjoyed this! Padma is seriously somebody I can write with anyone. I'd write her with Voldemort if somebody asked me too.
