Yoji was fading fast; his eyes glazing over and crimson blood rushing from the bullet wound he had made himself. Aya griped his hand, afraid of what would happen if he let go, afraid of where he might go. Tears ran down his face, shaking his head at the dying assassin. "Yoji, why? Why did you do this to me?" He demanded, his grip tightened on Yoji's hand with every word. "What did I do?" Yoji, unable to answer or breathe, blinked and smiled weakly. The world was closing on him. Finally, the sin master of the world was getting his pay back, and despite the pain, he felt good. He felt good about this, leaving and never coming back. His only regret was the lover he never loved, and the friends he had never told he cared. Through the growing darkness, he could barely see Ken and Omi, standing silently in the doorway, the young assassin's face buried in the others out stretched arms, the brunette holding him close. Aya touched his cheek and fingered his hair, as if savoring this moment. "More like what I didn't do." He whispered, almost to himself. Then, he finally lost it, his rock hard barrier to emotions cracked, and his feeling let lose. He drew Yoji up to his cheek, holding him like there was no tomorrow. He cried over and over, "I'm so sorry, Yoji, go I'm sorry." As Balinese's pulse began to slow Aya eased off him, shaking his head and crying. " I've held your heart in my hands, Yoji." He began, looking away from his partner, his friend. "I never-gave it-back." He said, voice rising and familiar sternness returning. He blinked harshly and turned away. "I never showed you my true feelings for you, I was too, too caught up in my own shell I never opened up to you, and I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." He turned a look on Yoji, a look never admitted in Aya before, a look only Ran had expressed. Unexpectedly, Aya brought Yoji's face up to his lips, giving him a little more life in the single moment Yoji had lived for, that single moment that set his soul free. After what seemed like eternity, Aya pulled away, silvery streaks of happiness covering his face, youthful after the longest time. Aya shook his head in bliss and pulled Yoji close again in warm embrace, positioning his lips by Yoji's ear and whispered the words Balinese longed to hear, " Yoji, oh God, Yoji, I love you." Yoji swallowed and smiled and cried. With his dying breath, Yoji returned the words, still smiling in sweet bliss, " Aya, oh Aya-Ran, I love you..... I love you...." Then Balinese finally died, but those words still lived on in Aya's heart until he joined him, whispering the words as he took his own life years later.
