Plans

Link wiped his sweaty palms on his suit. Pulling at his collar, he tried to fix his breathing. Nothing would go right if she expected something was wrong, now would it? No, he needed to be calm. He had a plan, closing his eyes he walked forward to the restaurant, opening the door. Giving the waiter his name he waited to be seated. When his table was ready he sat down, and began what seemed like the longest wait in his life.

Zelda was scared.

She didn't know why Link had requested a sudden date with her, but she feared the worst. What if he had found another girl? Maybe he would be better with her. No, Zelda don't think like that. He wouldn't do that to you. Not after months of dating, would he?

She prayed for the best, hoping he just really wanted to see her, not that he was over with her. Her palms were sweaty and she quickly wiped them on her dress. As she stepped out of her car she looked at the restaurant. He had really outdone himself this time. She kept thinking maybe he outdid himself because it was the last time. No, I can't think like that. Walking inside, she said she was here for a reservation under the name Link. The waiter directed her toward a table, and she was overjoyed to see Link already sitting there.

Link saw her coming.

Thinking she looked especially beautiful tonight, a genuine grin plastered itself on his face. When she sat down he felt his palms become sweaty again. He evened out his breathing, and looked at her. She had a smile across her face, but Link thought he could detect a slight trace of fear in her eyes. What for? Whatever, it didn't matter now. Not when he was about to make either the worst or the best decision of his life. Probably the latter.

She smiled up at him.

She knew he would know it was fake, but she tried to make it look genuine. She saw him give a small frown, and knew he had detected her mood.

"So, what made you take me out on a sudden date?" She asked with fake cheerfulness.

That pained expression, it couldn't be. He wasn't going to break up with her, was he? No, he couldn't! She loved him!

''Well, I have something to say," he started, and stomach dropped, he really was going to end it, "More like ask, actually."

"What is it?" She knew the fear was evident in her voice, but she could care less. She didn't want him to end this, she loved him!

"I…uh…I," He stammered, this was so not like him, he was confident and courageous.

Suddenly he dropped to one knee, pulling out a box from his jacket. When he opened the box, she saw the most beautiful thing in the world, excluding Link of course, and gasped.

"Will you marry me?"

She took a moment to regain her thoughts, and her heart filled with joy. All her worrying was for nothing, he loved her and she loved him. That was all that mattered.

"Yes."
