Under the rug

Chapter 1

Two weeks passed and it happened again. Peter had just gotten home from work and had just sat down to rest when it happened, again. Recently Peter had been having strange situations where out of the corner of his eye, he had spotted something moving under his living room rug in the next room. To be honest with you he had no idea what it was, or why it was there, and also he was a little bit scared. It had started happening more often and this was the fourth time every two weeks, he was getting really annoyed and was afraid that it may be dangerous in some way for it was bigger than a mouse, yet smaller than a dog or cat. Peter had tried hitting it with a chair, but that never worked, it either saw the blow coming or just disappeared. Recently it had started knocking things over and breaking many things, which was greatly cutting into Peter's budget and time. He had tried the exterminator, rug removal, and even the police; this was getting way over hand and no one could get rid of it!

The next evening Peter got home from work and was happy to get a chance to rest. Suddenly he saw the bump in the rug, he was too tired to even bother trying another way of getting rid of it, so just in his own everyday boring way, he went to bed.

In the distance he heard a strange knocking noise at the end of the hall, it kept getting closer and closer, like it was looking for something, like it was looking for him.

Chapter 2

"Hey Sue!" Peter walked into his office the next morning. He walked into his office.

"That's Joe's office Peter!" Sue shouted.

"He's not the same." She muttered. "The Peter I know would never make a mistake like that."

Sue asked Peter if he would like to go for a quick lunch together on their lunch break. Peter replied yes.

"Now I know their really is something wrong with Peter…He would never go to lunch on his lunch break…"

"So, Peter, How was your day?"

"Fine thank you, and yours?"

"Great thank you. So…What have you been doing recently in the past day or so?"

"Nothing much, just went home rested, continued my work, and went to bed." He laughed.

Then she saw it. Sue saw that Peter had blue eyes, yesterday he had brown eyes, and he did not wear contacts.
