Please be kind as I only just turned 13 and it's my first story:

R/R :)

I wanted to follow them and fight side by side with the men of my city… As the troops marched out of the wall, I sat on the roof of the southern guard tower, my bow and arrow beside me, waiting to go to war, freedom and victory. But being a female made it seem like a joke and impossible dream. As the last warrior rode out alone, behind all the others, the horse slowed and faced back to the city. The warrior took one last look at his home. I recognised him… The boy from the forge… The Blacksmith's son… I felt jealousy and envy fill up in me but also respect. He wasn't like other boys his age… Tall and tan, yes but gentle and kind… Deep ocean blue eyes and golden, sandy hair covering his features… I watched as his horse turned back again and he rode away. I felt a tug in my heart, strange and strong, pulling me in the direction of the leaving warrior. Also a hole… forming slowly, creating torment and craze in my heart. I shook the feeling away, forgotten instantly. I grabbed my weapons and sack of equipment and slowly started to scale the wall connected to the tower. I didn't look down, too afraid of the height. I turned my head and faced the building an arms length away from me. I jumped across onto the window ledge and almost fell. Grabbing onto the pane of the window, I pulled myself up, trying not to think of the mistake that nearly cost my life.
