Spoilers: "We are Family"
Summary: Max and Liz finally get to see the
world….together.
Disclaimer: Not mine, just a little fic that popped
into my brain. The lyrics to "A Whole New World" come
from the Disney movie- "Aladdin".
It was all she thought it would be, and more.
It was all Alex said it was, and more.
It was Sweden.
Liz Parker…who had been Liz Evans for quite some
time…had finally made it off of the continent of North
America.
She was in Europe.
She'd dreamed of going to Europe- mainly Sweden, after
going to the Millennium Village at Walt Disney World
in the summer of 2000. She'd wanted to go and see the
seasons, smell the snow…
But unfortunately, life hadn't been like that. Things
like fighting off aliens, saving your friends,
sacrificing your love, and dodging the FBI took away
from things like that.
"We finally made it." Max said, gazing up at the
spectacular light show in the sky.
"I always wanted to see Sweden" Liz said, snuggling
back into Max's arms. "You knew."
"I told you that you should get to see Sweden. But I
held you back."
She turned around and stared him in the face. "You
never held me back. You pushed me forward. Max, I
wouldn't be who I am today without you."
"Liz, you would have been safe…you would have…"
"Lived a boring life. Max, every day with you is an
adventure. And I'm thankful."
"Liz, I will always be here for you. Always." He
said, kissing her lips.
"Max," Liz pulled away. "Do you ever feel like
you've been cheated? Like you didn't get to do
everything that you wanted…that I held you back?"
"Never. You're a part of me Liz. You always will be.
And I was afraid…afraid that I would suffocate you,
that you wouldn't grow…that I would hold you back."
"And you're a part of me."
The two snuggled together, using each other for
protection against the frigid air.
"We made it." Liz said, squeezing his hand.
Max started to sing softly to Liz. "I can show you
the world…shining, shimmering, splendid…tell me
princess, now when did you last let your heart
decide?"
Liz laughed. "You have to back off the Disney
cartoons."
"This from the mother who can quote the entire Disney
songbook."
Liz laughed. "What time do you think it is back
home?"
"Not time to call. This is our day. Our trip. We've
got the rest of the gang covering the base. This is
our 25th Anniversary, and we're gonna enjoy it."
"Whatever you say, Max. Whatever you say." Liz said,
leaning back into his arms.
