Running. Forever running. The night sky was blank, no stars shining in the sky of the polluted city. Strawberry's rings had turned a purple. The weight in her mouth slowed her, and she knew she was bound to be caught. There was only one way. Strawberry finally stopped, in an alley. She dropped the weight behind a dumpster, and brought her lips to it's forehead. She started running again. Goodbye, son.

The wind ruffled his fur, his rings green. His eyes were closed as he took deep breaths. He opened them once more when he heard steps. "Go away, Blade." Kuro said. "What? Unhappy that I found your little hidey place?" Blade said, grinning, as he sat down next to the special Umbreon. Kuro rolled his eyes, but what he said was a bit true. The little forked stem that had the color of wheat in mouth, Blade nudged Kuro. "Come on man, what's wrong?" Blade questioned. Kuro glanced at the green figure, with a red belly. Blades came out at the end of his wrist, with a longer, but not as sharp, blade came out of his head. "Nothing." Kuro said untruthfully. Blade raised an eyebrow. "Reaaaalllyyyy?" Blade said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You're a bitch sometimes Blade." Kuro said, rolling his eyes once again. "Hey now, no need to cuss!" Blade said, pretending surprise. They sat there in silence, until Blade finally got up. "Fine, I'll go." Blade said, and Kuro watched the Grovyle jog back to the Pokemon Adoption Center. Kuro closed his eyes once more, deep in thought once more. Something was wrong. Kuro opened his eyes. Wind shot at them, as if trying to break them. Kuro covered his eyes with his paws, as the wind grew. "Shiiiiiittttt!" Kuro yelled, as the wind kept growing, and he was blown away, head pounding.
Seth walked out of the gym triumphantly, holding the badge proudly. His first gym badge. He had beaten Falkner by a sliver, but he still had won! He walked to the Pokemon Center, giving his pokemon to the nurses and walking into an open bedroom. He hopped into the bed, tired from all the battling. It was night, and the black sky did not glitter with stars as it did in the wild routes. Seth finally fell asleep, with a feeling of excitement for tomorrow, a brand new day.
