Collins looked away weeping while still holding the love of his life in his arms. She was still a little bit warm, and that was the warmth of love. It was said that Angel was everyone's best friend, how she saved them all from despair, but it was he who she saved. He realized slowly as he didn't know what to do with life anymore the fact that his Angel was gone and Collins was soon to face the harsh reality of being alone. It was like yesterday the memories of happiness began to flood his mind, his heart, which of course we know would never leave, and his soul.
i"Baby I need your lovin' got to have all your lovin…."
"I know.."
"Or do you?"
"I know."/i
Those were the simple words exchanged daily. 'I know' I know what you may ask? Ever since she found him lying on the cold concrete in the alley when the thugs had beaten him up it was a destiny. It was as if Collins was supposed to get hurt, as if she was supposed to set her drums up on the street corner that night. And like that they were one. Angel was the binding of the book for their family, she was the glue that kept them all together, and it was she who changed the way people looked at life.
i"Oh Collins! Have you not anything better to do then look at me like that?"
"I know.."
"You know what?"
"I know…"
"What?!"
"I…"
"Know…"/i
No one but the two knew what 'I know' meant, and it was a mystery because they would never complete the sentence, it would always be those two words. Two words which meant a form of love. One would question it, but the way you look it would be as if they had known each other for a lifetime. Collins remained still as the nurse came in to turn off the machines.
i"I'm sorry dear one for your loss, but you must…"/i
He stopped her quickly and shook his head.
"I know…" and like that the nurse left Collins there alone. He was struck, he was angry, he wanted it to be him instead of Angel because her missions in life weren't done, she was still needed on the earth to help arrogant people understand the difference between love, and wanting love, between knowing and unknowing, and to be there to guide him into a future of a life with her.
The thoughts of loneliness began to creep even more it was sinking in. Mark was around the corner when he heard the machines going off, he too knew that she had passed and he went to the end of the hallway. He went to the room that laid Angel in Collins arms. Seeing his friend in agony only sent chills up his spine. He saw the love everyday that the two had for one another and he reflected it onto his life. He once was happy, and all said and done was cheated on, now became the only one to never truly find that love of his life.
