Hey Everyone! This is my first FF for the Drake Chronicles, which I just recently began reading and immediately loved. This will be a series of Nicholas POV chapters when Lucy was Injured in Out For Blood. Idea is mine but the characters and dialogue belong to Alyxandra Harvey. Enjoy!

Out For Blood

Chapter 15- Nicholas

I was currently sitting on the house porch waiting for Quinn, who had yet to arrive. Inside the house I could clearly hear Lucy's heartbeat and tried no to imagine the warm blood it was pumping. I shuddered. I couldn't think like that.

I heard the rumble of a car coming into the driveway and had to shield my eyes from the headlights of the car.

"How was your date?" I asked as Quinn shut the car's door.

"Which one," He answered.

"Show-off."

"With great hotness comes great responsibility," he muttered still grinning.

I shook my head. "Up for patrol pretty boy?"

"Always." Of course he was. Quinn enjoyed fighting almost as much as he liked girls. Almost being the key word. He retrieved a bag from the hall closet along with a crossbow. His favorite and the one he always had a trouble hiding from Lucy.

The woods went quiet with our approach. The small animals stirred and scrambled away from the predators running so fast that they could only see a blur. If only Lucy would do that. If only she would realize how dangerous it was to be around us. My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the smell of stagnant pond water and mushrooms. I paused and sniffed more at the air.

"Hel-blar," I mouthed to Quinn. He nodded and took hold of his crossbow. I took out two stakes, one in each hand circling Quinn so I could have his back. We stayed still paying sharp attention at what was coming. Suddenly three Hel-blar came at us. Quinn shot a crossbow and pierced a Hel-blar's chest, immediately turning him into dust. The second vampire rushed at me, my stake was ready, lined up with his heart but the impact of his body against mine made me lose hold of my stake. My stake pierced his chest but only half stuck.

"Drakes, even better." I heard Quinn's vampire hiss out.

The Hel-blar pushed at me throwing me down with a punch to my chest. We both tumbled to the ground, grappling.

"Nick, you okay?" Quinn yelled. I grunted a yes out. I slammed my fist into the Hel-blar and drove my stake through his rib cage. Dust billowed out making me cough. Quinn finished with his not seconds later.

"Three down." He pushed to his feet. "Not bad. But I'm going to smell like soggy mushrooms for the rest of the night." I frowned.

"Did that seem kind of easy to you?" I asked.

"Easy?" Quinn asked incredulous, "Are you smelling the smell?"

"Seriously. Didn't they seem tired to you?" I questioned.

He frowned as well. "I guess they could have fought harder. It's not like they laid down and died for us like that chick at the school thought."

I looked up ahead as a flock of birds winged into the sky not far from us. Quinn and I exchanged a knowing glance. Hel-Blar were not far from us. We ran. The wind made my black shirt flap as we raced through the forest. We made no sound so we could have the element of surprise on our side. Thing is we couldn't have that helpful element since both Quinn and I cursed at the sight of Solange. And then I smelled her. Lucy.

I knew the smell of her blood and scent as well, which were engraved in my head. I barely registered Solange throwing stakes at us. All I could see was Lucy, lying on the creek's black pebbles, motionless. I could see the blood flowing into the water. Coldness surrounded me at the sight, this couldn't be happening. My fangs lengthened even more burning my gums. Someone was going to die and it wasn't going to be Lucy.

Thanks for reading and please review! I will post chapter 18 sometime this week.
