Prologue: After the Jenova Incident
iThe world was at peace, except for in one place, the shadows of Cloud Strife's mind. He was still intoxicated with Mako energy, and he was on the brink of insanity. Tifa stayed by him, as did Cid, and Yuffie was pillaging from the rich and from small villages. Vincent went back to the mansion, and slept from then on out. Aerith was in the heavens above, and Barret lived in a lone, run-down shack, he build with his bare hands, right next to Dyne's grave. Red XIII went back to the Cosmo Canyon, and lived out his days there. Cait Sith went back to the Golden Saucer, with a gift of 10,000 gil from Tifa. Reno and Rude were sent to work in the Mako Factories. All said, most days were lived out the same. Cloud eventually dies from Mako posioning, and Tifa, not being able to stand the loss, suicides. No one even dared to go back up to the Northern Crater, for almost a hundred years. Barret lives to be 89, and never marries. Red XIII mates, but his children could not speak the tongue of man. No one ever hears from Vincent any more, nor Yuffie. Cid travels the seas and ferries and imports goods for a living after Cloud's death, and Cait Sith spends the rest of his days in the golden saucer. Now, over 100 years later.../i
Worker: I think we found something!
Captain: What?!
Worker: It kind of looks like a tablet, written in a different language...
Captain: Hmm, let m---
*the Captain gets cut off as Zane pushes him out of the way*
Zane Takadi: Let me see.
*Zane inspects the wall closely, touches the center, and mumbles something.*
*all of a sudden, the wall crumbles, and the workers and captain are awestruck*
Zane: Thank you for your services. I won't be needing you any more.
*Zane enters the cave, stepping over the rubble of the tablet, and emerging a few seconds later*
Zane: May I take this?
*he takes one of the lighted helmets from one of the workers, flips the light on, and enters again.*
