A/N: I'm sorry I've not added a new fic in so long... I'm not dead, I just don't really think of many good fics these days. This is just a quick, very short Aerith oneshot that I did recently. Not so sure how it turned out, so please review :) I'll appreciate the feedback.

-Rain-

Rain fell, in slow motion, dropping through the hole in her roof, the roof of the church.

Down, down, onto the flowers. Onto her hair, shoulders, and face. Cool, soft. Wet.

She looked up—as the droplets fell, in slow motion—she looked up. Remembering, thinking.

Thinking of the hole in her roof.

Thinking of the one who had fallen, down, down—down from the sky, onto the hard wooden planks of the church.

The sky was blue, through the hole in her roof. Blue—like the eyes she was thinking of.

The sky was bright—like a smile—but still the raindrops came falling.

The wind sighed as she breathed out, slowly, remembering….

Sky blue eyes, smiles, a laugh.

Then the wind cried, faintly, like a familiar voice calling her name. A kind voice, strong, happy…

But it was only the wind after all.

Only the wind, whistling through the rafters, wailing, weeping. Mourning, mourning…but for what?

Maybe it knows, she thought. Did it?

Did it know that she had stood here, longing, for days, months, even years? Longing for the one who was never coming back?

Did it know the pain in her heart? The hole, large, gaping, like the gap in the ceiling of the church?

A raindrop fell, landing on her forehead. Down, down… Clouds moved over.

She could see the blue sky fading. The wind began to howl, and the drops fell thicker, faster. Fair weather fled, consumed by grey.

And now the spray plummets, down to the ground, down her face. Hiding the tears which stream in rivulets from her eyes, joining the rain that sprinkles onto the flowers.
