Hi, long time no see. I know I'm supposed to write in French, since I'm french and I know I'm supposed to work for my exams but what can I say? The fanfic world is reluctant to let go of me.(Or the opposite, I can't decide.)
"You lied to me. You're not my Auntie, are you?"
The look of pain and sorrow etched on Emily's face, from the other side of the wire fencing of the school, was a sight Gretchen hoped she would never have to see. She knelt as near as she could and tried to grasp the little fingers turning white.
"Who told you that sweetie?"
"Frank shouted it and Mommy didn't deny. He said she should send me back to you so they could live in peace."
"Who is Frank? Does he often shout?Did he yell at you?"
"Frank is Mommy's new boyfriend. I don't like him. He always tell me to be quiet and play in my room while Mommy and him get some fun."
"And what does Mommy say when he tells you that?"
"She looks at me and tells me to obey."
Emily got quiet and looked around, fidgeting.
"There's something else you're not telling me, Emily. I told you, you could tell me everything, be it good or bad. You called last night and now I'm here, I'm listening."
"Why didn't you tell me you were my Mommy?"
"It's complicated Emily."
"Don't you love me?"
Gretchen found a gap big enough for Emily to get through and asked her to come to her. The little girl looked at where her teacher was and did as asked. Once at the other side, she found herself in a motherly embrace.
"I promise I love you very much, Baby. That's why I asked my sister to take care of you. Because I wouldn't be a good Mommy for you. "
"You always have time for me. Mommy doesn't anymore. Frank is taking all of her time."
"Don't worry, soon Mommy will have all of her time back only for you. You just have to wait a little more, Okay?"
"I want to go with you."
"Listen, I know you're mad at Mommy because she didn't let you do what you wanted but it is not the way it works. I promise I would do anything for you but what you're doing now is a temper tantrum you'll regret if you come with me."
They hadn't realized the bell had rung and only looked up when Emily 's teacher frantically yelled her name.
"You'd better go back, Emily."
The girl went back on the other side and started to walk away but something seemed to cross her mind so she looked back where Gretchen stood.
"Did you chose my name?"
"What? Why?"
"Did you?"
"I did."
"Thank you Mommy."
With a smile, Emily turned around and after blowing a kiss she started to run to her teacher who was getting more desperate by the minute.
