Before meeting her again
By Alasse Fefalas
Jane stood outside the door, composing himself. He had caught Cho's smile when he glanced back at the Asian man. Well, at least it confirmed that he indeed was happy to see him. He knew it also meant another thing. Lisbon was behind the door.
Two years, he had waited. Two long years without her by his side. It was a peaceful life by the beach, something that he had dearly missed, but he missed Lisbon more. Her smile, her laugh, her presence. He had always written her letters every week, but it was a poor replacement for her. She could never write back to him - he had never given her his address. He simply had to settle with just his words reaching her. If not for Agent Abbott, he would have thought she had never gotten his letters at all. He trusted his carny friends, yes he did. He just didn't know whether they would help him deliver the letters to her - they knew the risks.
And now, there was no need for the letters, no need for waiting. There were no longer oceans between them; Just a door.
Jane smoothened out his jacket and ran a hand through his hair. Looking down, Jane smirked. He popped open another button on his shirt, revealing the tan line underneath. He knew Lisbon would have loved to see it.
Smiling to himself, Jane pushed the door open.
A/N: And the rest is canon. This isn't one of my best fics, it's written while I'm in a sleepy daze. I just couldn't sleep without writing this! Hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading!
