Cato (POV) Fire. For a girl that only comes to my chest she has a lot of it. Since I was seven I have been training to go into the Hunger Games, but in the other districts they don't have the advantage to prepare for the games. The reapings start with 12 and start their way up to district 1. Watching district 12s reaping, just twelve days ago seeing the same fire burning in her eyes. For her sisters' sake she volunteered. She walked on stage so determined to show no fear with her fire threating to burn everything down and gave a promise that she might not be able to keep. Right then I knew I was screwed. Reaping day is here for district 2 and of course I volunteer. The girl tribute, I had never met before. There was the way her eyes looked that made my skin crawl. I couldn't wait to arrive at the capitol and get to meet my girl on fire.
Katniss (POV) I told Prim earlier that she would be fine. Then we went our seprate ways for the drawings. Her name is in there once what is the chance of her getting picked? Effie made the whole 'may the odds ever be in your favor' crap that i can't stand. My heart pounding as she starts to open the card. "Primrose Everdeen. Where's Prim?, come up here sweetie."
