Luna wrapped a length of tinsel around and around her head and admired the effect in the mirror. Ginny paused in her attempts to get Christmas baubles to hang gracefully off the ends of branches and admired it too.
"Let me have some," she said, and grabbed the free end of the tinsel. She threw it around her neck and shoulders like a scarf and posed in the mirror beside Luna.
"It looks lovely on you," Luna told her mildly.
"Better on you."
The two girls stood and stared into the mirror for a long moment, then Ginny coughed softly and said, "I suppose we should put it on the tree, though."
"I suppose."
Ginny slowly unwrapped the garland from her neck and wound it about her hand. When she reached where it rested across Luna's shoulders, cheeks, and around the top of her head, she let her hands linger slightly on her skin. Luna smiled serenely as she did it, making no move to assist, but none to stop her either. When Ginny had unravelled it so there was only one loop left, resting across the back of Luna's neck and shoulders, she used it to pull her towards her, and pressed a kiss against the tip of Luna's nose.
