Silly little oneshot of Claire and Sylar. My first Heroes fic, please enjoy :)

Somewhere in the distance a bird chirped. Peace secluded the whole forest, giving off a feeling of Zen. Claire sat atop a tall tree, acting as her own lookout. She wasn't afraid of falling, that would only get her clothes dirty. She was sitting in the tree because she needed to get away. The woods were just perfect for getting away. She didn't feel like such a freak here.

Claire and Gretchen had gotten in another fight. According to Gretchen, Claire was being reckless. But Claire thought Gretchen was overreacting. She did that so much. Gretchen needed to relax.

There was a creak next to Claire, then she heard his deep, dark, annoying voice. "Trouble in paradise?" He asked. She looked beside her and there sat Sylar, grinning evilly.

"How'd ya guess?" She asked dully. The only reason she didn't jump from the tree right that moment was that she knew Sylar wasn't really a threat anymore. He was sick and twisted and Claire would always hate him, but running away now would only give the bastard satisfaction.

"Well, if there wasn't trouble, you wouldn't be up in a tree glaring at rocks on the ground," Sylar pointed out. Claire simply went back to being lookout, she didn't want to look at the face of pure evil today.

"How the hell'd you get up here anyway?" Claire asked.

"Tsk. Tsk, Claire bear," Sylar said. Claire wanted to punch him off the tree for using her father's nickname for her. "How does one find oneself in a tree?"

Claire turned to glare at Sylar's dumb smirk. "So I guess you climbed?" She asked sarcastically.

"Not exactly. Aren't abilities great?" He said. Claire rolled her eyes. She watched as Sylar closed his eyes and disappeared. She sighed in relief at his leaving. "You really think I'd leave without saying goodbye?" he called to her. Claire looked at the tree across from her where he perched.

"New ability?" Claire asked, venom practically dripping from her voice.

"Always," Sylar said slyly. Claire looked away, not wanting to see that idiotic grin of his. "You can't solve your problems by looking away from them," Sylar teased, sounding Zen-like.

"What would you know," Claire said coldly. Sylar could never understand anything normal, he was too much of a psychopath for that.

"A lot," He said more seriously.

"Just leave me the hell alone," Claire hissed at him. Sylar made her sick how he was always trying to 'bond' with her. She didn't understand why he always knew where she was when she was alone...probably an ability he picked up somewhere.

"'Kay," He muttered. She looked to his branch and he was gone. "I'll get you, yet," he whispered by her ear. She turned full around, nearly falling, but he wasn't there. This new ability of his made her more paranoid than usual.

Now all was still and quiet once more, but it scared her a little. She almost wished Sylar were still here. Almost. He still disgusted her to no end, but now the silence of the woods was painted. Claire decided to walk home to make amends with Gretchen. The whole way back she kept looking behind her, unable to get that stupid smirk out of her mind. She saw Sylar every time to closed her eyes, which made her shiver.

By the way. Sylar didn't get the disappear-reappear ability from Hiro or any other character on the show.
