Hello everyone! This is my first story, based on a story prompt I found on Tumblr, which is about a clock that stops once you meet your soulmate. Please give me tips on how to improve, and I hope you like it!

I yawned as I woke up, my brown eyes still half shut due to sleepiness. Yawning again, I sat up on the edge of the bed and put on my glasses, before turning to my wrist.

I smiled shakily. "Alright bucko, 10 more hours. That's an hour after your work ends, so at least it won't be a new colleague. You can do this." I told myself as I walked to the bathroom to take a bath.

-Time Skip-

I glanced at the clock on my computer. 16:55. 'Time to go home!' I thought happily as a smile formed in my face, although I quickly hid it. I organized my stuff before glancing at my wrist.

I took a shaky deep breath. "I can do this." I murmured to myself before walking out of the office I worked in. I took an elevator to the first floor and walked out of the building and towards the cafe where I usually drank a cup of coffee and worked on the scripts for my videos.

I walked in and asked for my coffee before taking a table on the corner and taking out my laptop from my backpack, beginning to work on the scripts. A little after, I looked at my wrist.

My eyes widened as I read the time. There were a bit less than 20 minutes left for me to meet my soulmate, and I'm not ready! I took a deep breath. "Everything will be alright." I muttered to myself, before looking back up at my laptop and going back to working on my script.

A while after, I turned off my laptop and put it back in my backpack, before standing up and beginning to walk to the door. On the way, I tripped and fell with a thud. A girl walked up to me.

"Oh my gosh, are you okay?" She asked with widened worried eyes. I smiled awkwardly and nodded. "Yeah, thanks." She held out her hand and I took it, standing up.

"I'm Piper, by the way. Who are you?" She asked with a gentle smile. I glanced at my wrist.

I chuckle and look up. "Name's Alex. Nice to meet ya!" I answer happily. Maybe being gay wouldn't be as bad as mom said.
