Nephrite flew upward through the clouds, ignoring the rain that lashed at him, the wind that blew him aside, and the lightning crashing near his head.
If the gods chose to put a storm between him and the stars, then he would go through it. He needed the stars' guidance more than he ever had.
It can't be much higher than this. Any moment now he'd punch through the clouds with sheer magical momentum and come out to see the clear, broad starscape over a blanket of cloud.
