A/N: I know that I kinda promised that I would update "The 26 ABC Kisses", but I just couldn't put it out in text. I have it half done, but it's a bunch of random mess. Next Monday, I will definitely update after exams are done. This is something I wrote a few months ago with the picture prompt link at the bottom. Please read and review! Thanks!

The silver, half-moon mask shielded my identity for the night. I waded through groups of chatting important people and headed towards the buffet table. It was better to keep myself as busy as possible to avoid looking so outcast.

"You new around here?" a voice piped up. I looked up to see the person with brown eyes and that familiar dual hair behind a half-moon mask. It was the same color mask as I had, but . . . if we were to put our masks together; it would've definitely made a whole.

"Haru," I said. The person's eyes slightly widen and then smirked,

"Oh, it's just you kitten. Thank the heavens I realized who you were before I blindly decided to take you to my room for the night."

I bristled and raised my hand to slap him, but he caught it promptly.

"Wouldn't want to have a lover's quarrel in the middle of about a thousand or so guests, right? Akito wouldn't take lightly to the sudden outburst," Haru stated with a small chuckle. I yanked my arm out of his grasp and glared heatedly through my mask,

"Lover's quarrel? Is that what you call it? More like a half-baked answer if you ask me."

I smirked when I got a glare on the Ox's face.

"Come with me," Haru clipped and yanked on my arm. I struggled and struggled. I didn't care if Akito heard; I just wanted to get away from Black Haru. Black Haru was ten times worse than Akito, at least I knew I was safe in the Cat's prison.

"What. The. Hell!" I shouted when he led us out onto the balcony. His evil grin did not lessen from the moment he dragged me till the moment he was standing in front of me, trapping my body against the balcony railing.

"It's funny. What are the chances that one of us wore the same mask?"

"A lot of people are wearing the same masks, not just us you idiot!" I cried. The Ox smiled,

"I meant this type of mask, kitten. And to top it all off, it looks like we both have halves of each other."

"And?" I grumbled, looking away rather than having a face full of that Ox's mug.

"And? Are you that dense or have you already figured out the meaning to my words?"

"Wh-What are you talking about? Meaning? What kind of meaning would there be? They're just masks, plain and simple," I replied.

"Naive, naive, little child," Haru taunted. I glared at him,

"I'll have you know that I'm older than you are, Haru."

"Oh? And yet you do not know the meaning to my words?" Haru replied airily. I burned with embarrassment. Yes, I knew what he meant, but I wasn't going to tell it to him straight up. What would he think?

"Sh-Shut up! If you continue to harass me like this, I'll leave first," I pushed past him and reached for the doors when I heard his voice.

"One day we'll become like our masks. We'll find our other half and spend the rest of our lives with that person."

"Spouting love already? Did you really get drunk that fast?" I scoffed and then I realized that White Haru was back.

"What Black Haru said was nothing but the truth, Kyou. One day, you'll understand. For now, I must be getting back to Rin."

I watched as the Ox walked past me and back to the party inside. I looked at where the other had been and tried to figure out his words. It was a no brainer what the Ox was trying to say. I just hoped that he didn't mean me.
