Ridiculous

Remus, who is still alive, thinks of Lily, who is now dead. He thinks of her often. No, he thinks of her all the time.[RemusLily.oneshot.Oh how I missed them.]

A/N: I know it's been a while since I wrote for this fandom so bear with the long author's note. So I pretty much followed a whim and this is where it got me. It was literally typed in my LJ entry box, on the spot, within 15-20 minutes, while I was thinking of ranting about someone I knew. I suddenly realized how much I missed writing these two.The ending could have been different/better but I just couldn'tput it any other way.And it's funny (and almost irrelevent)how ever since the PoA movie, every time someone says 'ridiculous' I think of Remus Lupin. Anyhow, something tells me that there will be more R/L coming from me in the near future :denies any influence of her personal life:

It is so much easier to talk of forever when you know there will be no hope and no future.

And so when Remus and Lily talked of what kind of dress she was going to wear at their wedding and what they would name their children, it was in no way ridiculous.

They were fifteen. It was in no way ridiculous.

Remus, who is still alive, thinks of Lily, who is now dead. He thinks of her often. No, he thinks of her all the time.

Technically, he has been thinking of her for a long, long time.

Remus is almost forty years old.

Still, he remembers the way the sky was that day, the way her hair fell that day, the fabric she had preferred, the names he had mentioned, the guest list for their wedding, the sparkle in her eyes. He also remembers the sadness in his own, the sadness that he did not show.

He knew they were not going to last. He believed it and very nearly prophesized it. He knew things were going to end badly. She did not.

She had believed in forevers and everlasting love and till death do us apart. It was in no way ridiculous although Remus had once thought otherwise. He had to change his mind though because she was right, even if he was a little right too.

In a way, things did end badly for them. That was a small-minded way of thinking however.

In another way, things did not end at all.
