Didn't know what to title it. Just a little something that came out of my head because I couldn't sleep. I will always be a BetTina fan. Drama television always screws up a loving relationship. I guess that's what sells. ;) Takes place in a cafe after the basketball game. I really don't write fanfiction but I love to read it. So I've finally had the courage to put something online (again). First time for the l-word. Forgive me if I misquoted the show and it hasn't been beta'd.

Minor spoilers from Season 4 episode 4.

Please review. Plus and minus critiques very much welcomed.

I look at it as a political label.

Bette rolled her eyes. "Can you believe she said that? How preposterous is that? Has this hetero leap over warped her mind?"

"Uh yea Bette." Alice stated in a quasi-tone like as a friend is suppose to do.

"Um Bette. You've been ranting on about Tina for about 15 mins now. I could of sworn last week I vaguely remember that you spoke of a moving-on-conversation over the phone with Tina. And…"

"Excuse me. I've moved on. AND do me a favor, can you roll your eyes back into its regular position. I hate when you do that with your eyes."

Sipping her double expresso mocha latte, she curtly responded back. "I had an eyelash stuck in my eye. Thank you very much."

"AND…" Alice eyed Bette directly.

"AND what…"

With a tight lip, " You know I'm right. We complain about the ones we love the most. So. Are. You. Done?"

"WITH WHAT?"

And muffled in her breath, "You're wrong."

Flicking her wrist "Bitching! Because you are so apparent like that hickie I saw on your back when we were playing with Papi and her lame ass crew."

Bette's reply. A half open mouth.

"Hah. I love when I make you speechless, Dean Porter!"

"So what if I'm bitching. Can't a girl talk to her friend?"

"Not when it's about her ex-lover who is my friend too, who I've known just as long as I've known you, I know both your histories and by the way you told me you were so over her."

Crossing her arms, "YES I am Alice and you need to…"

Finishing her sentence, "…hear about how that intern of yours gave you that love bite."

"No." Bette glared disapprovingly at her unable to hide the twitch in her upper lip.

"Say no more." Alice smirked. "It's good to get fucked by some young thing. You're hot stuff."

Bette didn't want to argue that nice point but she still felt annoyed that Alice could do shit like that. Damn her neurotic ability to dig the truth out of her.

She carried on, "I have one thing to ask?"

"What?!"

"Was she good? You're little miss blonde artsy fartsy intern."

She couldn't contain a smile. "You know how it goes. She's my student anyways. It doesn't matter. It was a mistake."

"You were always partial to sexy blondes." Quickly biting her lip waiting for a long-winded Bette Porter retort.

Three-two-one.

"I told you Alice I'm so over Tina and even if there was a slight tinge of feeling for her I wouldn't act on it anyway because she's moved on and I am more than happy that we have worked the whole Angelica thing out and we are on civil speaking terms again and as for your implications, they are ridiculous and unfounded like always when you try to psycho-analyze my life based on your twisted romantic encounters." She fiddles with her napkin while letting out an exasperated breath.

If Papi had said it, she might have been offended. She paused, stared humorously at her very hard working and at times wound up best friend.

"I was talking about me Ms. Porter." Alice stood up. Pursing her lips in an air kiss directly at Bette she follows with a huge I told you so smile on her face. "Toodles."
