Why, hello again, my darlings! It's been quite awhile, hasn't it? I know I haven't written in centuries, but my muse took a vacation to Bermuda. That, plus a super-busy schedule, blah blah blah…

Anyway. Long (vair, vair long) story short, I'm back… with a vengeance. Over my long sabbatical my writing style has changed, and I'm trying it out. Those of you who don't know me already, please give my stories a chance. I would like to give credit to a few old friends of mine through FanFic who reviewed my stories loyally: (If you don't give a rat's ass about this dedication, feel free to skip it)

Bells rang everywhere, red and black and green. They shimmered like morning stars, blaring but soft, from every direction. Horns honked and walls fell and the black room seemed to shrink around Kagome as she wrapped her arms about her legs in a frightened embrace. She wanted to scream, wanted to sob, wanted to run away from this terror that held her paralyzed. She was so tired, so tired… but she couldn't sleep, because then her demons would catch up with her. She had to run.

Once her eyes closed, she dreamt of islands. Islands that drifted away, unanchored, slowly drifted uncontrollably farther and farther away from the city on the horizon. She knew that she was on that island, felt the panic of trying to hold on to the world around her, the world she wanted to be a part of…

Never in her life had she dreamt she would end up here. Where was she, anyway? She'd forgotten. Nothing mattered but this room, the four walls around her, and there was nothing beyond them. Nothing, nothing… the word emptied her mind but brought no comfort. Memories she wished she could bring up tugged at the edges of her consciousness and she sat with her eyes closed, both to everything around her and everything within her that she did not understand.

If she let herself remember something, a scrap of what life was like, the panic would close in around her, choke her, sink her into its depths. She felt as if she was fighting a great monster, and its dark, dark eyes watched her every move. And so she remained, staring at the floor in a lonely, quiet room (which seemed not at all quiet to her ravaged mind), in a sad, sad building in a world that she had once been a part of, but not a part of, which operated just fine without her.

She wished the tears would come.

I'm so sorry this is so short (and probably really confusing), but I hope to update soon. I hope you are interested so far, at least.

With love, Goddess
